Haha, they almost want us to believe that Apple is giving us a favour for getting iWatch earlier than expected.
Well in my case, Pink 42mm ordered at 3:01 (confirmation email at 3:02 - location for delivery big city downtown Zone 1) is being delivered to my surprise and disappointment much later than expected. Still did not receive it, supposedly on this coming Weds, 29th Therefore, April 24th was never realistic prediction, but they they offered these dates anyway. How do they think anyone will ever trust them in the future again?
Apple wrongly exaggerated with blue and white production, but screwed up with other models.
Maybe they quickly used a pink nail polish and painted one of these whites that they have extra of? Im supposed to feel unique when I finally get mine?
Ordered at 3;01 am ET on 4/10 and still got delivery dates 4-6 weeks.
Ordered 42 mm SS BSB at 3:04 a.m. (EDT) on 04/10.
Finally changed this morning to Preparing for Shipment and cc has pending charge!
What pisses me off the most is I placed my order 3 mins after pre-order started (3am EST) couldn't get in till 3:03am. Placed my order 10 seconds later. And it was already saying 5/12 - 5/27!!!! WTF Apple did you make like ten watches and said "screw it. Lets see how many people order?!?!?!!"
NOW I'm seeing people who ordered HOURS after I did RECEIVING their deliveries OR improved delivery expectations......WTF!!?!?!?!? I'm stuck in Processing hell.
This is my first time pre-ordering something from Apple and this is the worst experience I have ever had to deal with wanting to buy something.
Apple Watch Sports 38mm
Black Sports Band

No sign of my order being moved up: SG 42mm Black Sports band. I am guessing these were a very popular choice.. I am based in UK, maybe this story of improving shipping dates isn't relevant on this side of the pond..
Underestimated, yes. Made to order? No way.

the model i ordered had a 4-6 week lead time the instant the store went live and no-one has received one that i've seen so yes i do believe these are being made as they are ordered, that's a lot of cost on their part to gamble with. i can't say i blame them from a manufacturing standpoint but it is aggravating from a i got up at 3am and now i'm going to be waiting till frickin june to get it when i could have done the same thing after getting a full night's sleep.
I just can't fathom a company as large and popular as apple on a worldwide launch of a new product would sell a band that they expect to be so unpopular they don't have any kind of inventory on hand to stop. Doesn't seem logical at all.
And let's not get carried away. No one that you know of has received one does not mean that no one has received one.

42mm SS with Milanese Loop
Delivers 4/24 - 5/8
Still Processing
I'm really trying to be patient. They haven't done anything wrong so far, as we're still within the delivery window, but I would like to see it updated, as people with far out delivery windows are being updated on a daily basis.
That's to keep them from canceling. And moving them up in projections is safer than moving yours. I wouldn't let it concern you.
you do know that Space black was already initially 4-6 weeks right? no one was getting it on day one regardless.
"Check Order Status" on Apple Web site (UK) is down. Could this mean they are updating next wave ofwatches for delivery???!!

The german site is down as well.
ordered my 38mm Space Grey Apple Watch Sport with Black Band at 1:03am MT on April 10th. Nope still waiting, still says processing, no change in shipping dates. Meanwhile my buddy who ordered the exact same model as me about 6 hours after I did, received his watch on the 24th. I'm calling ******** on Apple fulfilling orders in a first come first served scenario like they said.
You know - I thought this at first too.
It could be one of two things:
1. Artificial Shortage
2. Apple not trying to pull an Amazon/MSFT with a poor product launch and having to sell tons of unused/unbought products (e.g. Amzn Fire, MSFT Surface). Then realizing demand is higher than they thought and increasing production.
I really don't know which it is.
What pisses me off is I stayed up til 3:00am EST to order a watch and I here I sit with no real updates on processing times. If they couldn't fulfill initial orders they should've pushed back the launch.
