I can't even conceive why anybody okay such old tech as a series 3,4 or people with iPhone 5,6,etc would care about the "latest" models....they're not likely going to make that jump.
I just went from a launch day series 3 to series 7 when I learned they were dropping updates for the 3. I don't think upgrading every 3-4 years to the latest model is as out of the ordinary as you think. For me it's about longevity (some call that "future proofing"); how many years am I going to be able to use the product before I lose support?

Mother in law just retired her 6S for a 13 pro as well around Christmas. She will probably keep that for five years too, assuming Apple supports it as long as they did the 6S.🤷‍♂️

Actually digging the design rumors, but the price puts me out of the running. Bought an open box stainless S7 during Amazon's sale, and it's looking like I made the right choice. Even that felt pricey at $500, but if we are pushing $1k for the Pro, I feel a hell of a lot better. Maybe a used or open box pro is in my future 3-4 years down the road. :D
Used sapphire screen models are the only way to go to get anywhere close to the correct value of any Apple Watch. Good choice!

I'll be all over the 'rugged' model when/if it comes out. I'm ready for a design update!!

That is why I said, that the comment was not in mean spirit.I just am a tech lover, and I like to always keep current....but that's me I know there are people that see these devices as utility tools, a device to accomplish a task. I used to upgrade everything every year, now I find that I am doing every other year unless I see something new that I really want. Generally they support them for 5 years...or 5 years from date of last sale.

what planet are you on? I just bought a used series 6 in titanium for less than 300.
Where?? Any scratches or marks on it of any kind? Everything work as expected? What was the used experience like?

Exist a lot of people with tiny wrists, makes more sense a Apple Watch Pro 42 and 45.

I’m looking forward to an upgrade from my S4 (and wife’s S3), but I don’t really see what could be much improved to make it more “extreme”? I already use mine for all kinds of sports with no problem. Just a bunch of marketing.

I want a rugged Apple Watch. I don’t want one that costs more than 2x what I would pay for the standard model. I could just buy a replacement, and still be ahead of the game.

eBay , I’ve bought a few there in the past. A few tiny scratches on the side of the case. The battery life is about 90 %

Aside from that it’s just perfect. it’s just insane to me to think of people paying retail plus tax for these.

Just ask tons of questions of the seller if you have them. If they won’t give you battery health or take actual photos of the actual item, look elsewhere. There are such good deals to find on eBay, and Apple Watch prices on there just go to show how completely overpriced they are at retail.

I agree! We haven’t heard a lot about the Apple Watch. I really hope Apple is not going to play us this year as they did with Apple Watch 7. I don't want incremental upgrades.
What do you expect?
Same case/screen as that was upgraded for S7, different color, maybe different case material (ceramic comes to mind), maybe body temp sensor, bigger maybe blood pressure?
Would you call that incremental?

In my mind AW is clearly following iPhone I. That yearly upgrades are not worth it anymore. But, let’s see if they had the rumors as tight as last year and were be surprised by the announcement

Boardroom meeting at Apple:
“How do we charge even more for the exact same watch we’ve been selling for the last 5 years?!”
Employee in the know: “what if put a $3 battery in it instead of the $2 battery, and put a different case on it, then we can charge another $100!!”
Apple Groupies: “I’m INNNNN”
