If your order is held up, better check apple.com, as the apple store app didn't show me this.

Mine was saying ships in 6-8 and processing with a Sept. 26th-28th delivery. Still has those times, but my card was just charged and it's changed to preparing to ship. 42mm Space Gray Series 2 with black band.
 
My SS 42MM with brown leather band estimated for 9/26 - 9/28 just changed to "preparing for shipment" and they charged my credit card.

And read this, my wife's 38MM Nike+ Edition order, which was made separately under her Apple account, was just charged to my credit card, but it stills shows as a October shipment date. Is this normal that Apple is charging my credit card now if it is not shipping until late October?

I wonder how long until we get them? I am out of town beginning of next week :(

Yea I wonder what the time-frame is from the preparing to ship step to the actual shipping of the package is.

I have a Stainless BLACK with Sport Band that just did the same change.

I wonder if they're in USA and we could get them Friday or early next week from China?
 
Card charged, Preparing for Shipping.
Still has a date of Sept 26-28, but my experience has always been less than a week after Apple charges me, so maybe I'll get a nice surprise.

My card was charged and status updated to Preparing for shipment. Date still says Sept. 26-28 for delivery, with 6-8 days and standard shipping. Which is contrary to what Apple support told me today. They said all pre orders are shipped with expedited service.

I ordered a 42mm SS with classic brown leather band.

6-8 days was Apple's estimate for when it would start the process of shipping (not the shipping time)
Standard Service is expedited when it comes to pre-orders.
 
And from past experience, the estimated ship time (from order to ship) doesn't update it will just go from Preparing to Shipped when the label has been created.
