The most important feature in my opinion would be the possibility to have specific functionalities on the bands.
LTE could be ok for some people, but I wouldn't pay more to have a cellular watch nor I'd be willing to pay for another data plan.

I really wish they would stagger these releases so that everything isn't released at the same time. It would be nice to get new watches in the spring for example and maybe new phones in September and new Macs and whatnot in the summer. Seems like EVERYTHING hits toward the end of the year. (New releases/major changes anyway) Maybe it just *seems* that way.

In any case, looking forward to what they put in the new versions. I am still on the first watch...

I absolutely agree. Having iPads, iPhones, Watch.. and possibly new Macs coming all at the same time seems a tad bit too much.

And I don't know how this cellular Apple Watch will pan out... I think it's too early for that, don't get me wrong.. I would like to have one. But I just prefer they do some more stuff with watchOS... give us a Podcast app and a better way to sync files to it. And it's really bugging me there's no disconnect in the Bluetooth settings similar to how it is on iOS, I'd have to forget a device if I want to disconnect.

I'd say they focus on improving watchOS instead of updating the hardware.

My wife and I recently purchased two SS Series 2 watches. We love them and they have been instrumental in getting me to start exercising and running again. Regardless, if the next watch requires another cell/data bill I'll more than likely move on to a dedicated running/exercise watch like a Suunto or Garmin. I absolutely do not need or want another cell bill.

Totally with you on it have capabilities like a high end Suunto or Garmin. But I would also welcome a cellular chip model in conjunction to that so I can have the safety of having that lifeline when running without having to bring my phone. Cellcos only charge $5/mo for a smartwatch so not a huge burden. If Apple did this I'm guessing it would be optional and extra cost like it is on the iPad.

Apple watch is the best looking smartwatch ever made. I recently got my 42 MM series 2 stainless steel model & i am loving it, hoping to get series 3 this fall

I agree! and I have tried Android Wear, Garmin, Fitbit. The Apple Watch is in a league of it's own.

But I am not upgrading for a sake of upgrading. My S0 SS model still functions and works great. As long as it still tracks activity and heart rate that's enough for me :)

So in addition to a new Apple Watch, the 2017 road map includes, new iPad Pro's, faster MacBook Pro's, and a new iPhone. Wow, that's alot of new updates over the next 6-8 months!

A comment with the word "innovation" in it about an Apple product? So ****ing innovative!

It takes magical courage so say that you're holding it wrong. Besides it doesn't need to be thinner, we need more battery, 1GB RAM is enough, may as well sack Timmy and where are all the Macs that can run Safari snappier?

Did I cover everything? :D:D

Oh, goody! Another barrage of apple watch advertising ramping up to be rammed down our throats!

Well for it to be rammed down you have to have your mouth open. If you want to avoid ads it's not too difficult. I think the only time I've even noticed AW ads is here on MR where they are front and center.

I love my series 2 but I do wish that at least the time was displayed at all times. Its a bit flakey when it comes to recognizing a turn of the wrist if my wrist is already partially turned and so I have to flop my wrist around sometimes to see the time which is irritating. Also we need a bunch of better watch faces or more customizable and each watch face should let you choose the number of complications

I knew it! So glad I returned the series 2, just didn't work for me for running. Decent Watch but I need cell connectivity! Bring it Apple!

Ugh, this LTE-on-a-watch obsession frustrates me so much. These things already have garbage battery life - that needs to be improved, not made worse. It's such an absolute fringe case to need to make phone calls on your watch without having your phone anywhere nearby. I'm sure there are a few marathon runners or Olympic athletes that will probably appreciate being able to wear short shorts without a phone in the pocket, but mainstream users do not want a heavier, chunkier watch that has 40% less battery to accommodate an LTE radio they will never use, and have to pay an extra monthly carrier fee for.

I just sold my series 0 last week and am debating on when/if to purchase series 2.

Realistically, what else can they do aside from add LTE, which I have no interest in?

As for running, I still use my Garmin for that. Pressing on two buttons or the screen is not a very efficient way to stop or start a run. I have no interest in using Siri to start/stop an exercise.

Is there a way to make the watch use your phone's data plan when you leave the phone behind. Make it a seamless transition and that way you wont need two data plans.
I would love to leave my phone behind at home when heading out for runs or gym and having Lte, heck even 3/4g would be great. Once you are in your phone's range, it will default to the phone connection.

I am no expert but this is up to the carriers right?

Not a chance I'd buy a separate plan for the watch, that's crazy! Not planning on buying anymore Apple Watches until I see some customization changes. Most personal device per Apple and you can't even customize the face properly.. no app store to purchase faces.. there's so much you could do with this device but they only focus on hardware these days.. software is 2nd rate across the board.

For some of us, LTE means no more hauling around an iPhone. That's a big deal.
