Hello!

Ordered my watch at 3:05am without any issues! Do you think it could come before October 5th? Also, why the delay? The Nike app?

Cheers!
Clem

What delay? I thought the Nike+ had been planned for Oct 5th release from the beginning?

I don't believe any reason has been provided. We could speculate as the the reason but it'd be mere guessing.

The same type of staggered release happened with the AW2 Nike+ edition.

What's the benefit of this over the regular AW 3?

Somehow or another I missed the Oct 5 date before ordering but I will live.

Custom watch faces and running app.

The app can always be downloaded for the non-Nike watches, but you don't get the watchfaces or Nike band (I like both).

Otherwise the versions as the same. But for the same price, if you like the Nike bits, why not order it? You're not paying anything extra.

at 0300, I went straight for the "crimson red" LTE watch and was told 3-5 week wait. Ugh.

So I went with the storm trooper white/black band. Still looks plenty "bad ass".

I wanted to go with the crimson red as well but I was scared that it would itch too much with the sweat.

Agreed, and if I were to order one, it would be the Nike flavor, I'm just having trouble justifying the cost in all honesty.

That is the difficulty with incremental upgrades. There's often not a super clear reason to plunk down the money.

I ordered one this morning though I remain undecided. I do like the barometric altimeter being added, and improvement in app and overall speed would be welcome. I don't like how much the carriers are charging for LTE and that may kill it for me as I'm unsure the other benefits would be worth (to me) the upgrade cost.

The only thing I can see about the LTE version is that I'll get texts and other notifications while running and/or away from my phone but in reality that I think is a rarity, and why increase my phone bill for a feature that if I use rarely it will be a lot.

I actually don't want texts or calls while out for a run.

Now if Pandora steps up and allows music streaming via watch only...

I'm also curious to learn if the LTE watch, if unactivated, will allow placing an emergency call to 911.

$10/mo is more than I'm interested in paying though.

By getting an order in now I have some time to think about it as it's not due to ship until mid october. (I didn't get up early)

Ordered one this morning. Finally upgrading my Series 0! Looking forward to being able to use this for some of my running (we'll see how satisfied I am with it compared to my Garmin - I don't expect perfection) and to be able to run out of the house without always carrying my phone with me. Was hoping AT&T would carry the Nike models so I could use their free loan but whatever.

I've had every new iPhone since the 3g - this is the first time I'm going for a watch instead of a new phone. Still perfectly happy with my 7.

I am hoping they enable the podcast app soon after release or in an update.

I love listening to podcasts as I run and no phone any longer was the buying point for me as I don't want to risk my X being dropped or carrying it around in a work out.

Extremely satisfied I am finally getting over the decision paralysis and took the plunge on the LTE.

I'm not counting on them beating the delivery date. Nike models always seem to be delayed by a small amount, so I suspect there is some sort of agreement Apple has that causes this rather than any supply chain issue.

Anyone's watch getting ready to ship? We probably won't see this until the Monday of.

My wife asked me to justify the LTE version....

I told her... "well, it will help me when I run"

she stared at me for a second then doubled over with laughter.
The running joke (sorry for the pun) in my family is the fact I got a Nike Watch, joined the Nike Run Club, and just got my first pair of Nike running shoes (on steep discount at the outlet store). When I go out with my greyhound, I announce that we are going to put in my Run Club miles. Everyone struggles to keep a straight face. My dog was a champion racer in her day until she retired at age 5..which was 7 years ago. When I try so much as a light jog with her she shoots me a dirty look and sits down in the middle of the street.

When I was out driving my truck the other day, I passed a woman running alongside the road. She could have been my twin (I'd better not let her near my future iPhone X). She had the same hair, same middle aged figure trying but failing to keep its shape, and was about the same age. Poor thing looked like she was staggering more than running. Clearly a newbie. I thought to myself, that's exactly what I will look like if I ever do try to put in some Run Club miles.
