Purchased mine from Best Buy. I was able to get it activated.

My issue is a little different. I can send and receive data and texts. I can receive calls over LTE, but I can’t initiate them. If my phone is around, everything works as normal.

Just tried what you suggested, didn’t work. Still error 412, do you have a business account?

Yes I do. It's been a real pain in the arse too. Was on the line with support till 1:30 am and they got me to finally get past a verification screen. Now I'm at the 412 error code.

It may be worth trying again if you have a business account. I, like many, have been frustrated at the T-Mobile customer service advisors telling me to either use my watch without cellular or return it and buy from T-Mobile.

I just tried to activate through the app moments ago and instead of the 412 errror, I got a 412-a that said I needed to call in to verify my billing address. I did that through the automated phone system and then retried again and this time my watch was successfully activated.

My account is tied to my ssn and home address, so I’m not sure it is fixed for those of you with accounts tied to business id numbers. Also, just because I also had the question, my activation worked while on WiFi. I did not have to switch to cellular on the phone.

Good luck everyone!

How did you get the number to call in? Did it show up when you tried to activate?

It's still just asking for my social now.

John Legere is cool and all...and I really like all of T-Mobile’s pricing initiatives...but their customer support sucks really bad. Extremely frustrating!

After I entered the last 4 of my ssn, there were several pages detailing the plan. Previously, I received an activation error 412. The 412-a error had the new wording of needing my billing address validated. The number I called was just the standard 611 support number. After going through address verification, I restarted the cellular add process and it worked.

At first I was hearing talk that it could be weeks, so hopefully this is a sign they’ll have everyone’s account fixed much sooner than that.

Same here, it seems like the problem has regressed. I was able to progress the upgrade flow until I reached the 412 error. Now it is just asking for SSN again. After a call with T-Mobile today I was told there is a known issue with onboarding business accounts since there is not an associated SSN. They let me know to call back in some time next week.

Is being a business customer always a headache for you? It is for me.

It sure seems we fall by the wayside. The business unit at T-Mobile that's responsible for AW3 integration missed a use case... some reps don't even know what to do with a TaxID

Are you able to order devices and make plan changes in myT-Mobile online or do you have to call for everything? My account doesn't allow any self service options. T-Mobile has become a time suck because I have to call or go into a store for everything.

I'm in the same boat. Can't do anything online except view/pay my bill and usage. Also, we don't qualify for the free Netflix promotion.......

Welp, I was debating starting my own personal line @ T-mo just so I wouldn’t have to deal with my company’s mumbo jumbo regarding any new changes to the line for watch series 3, i think this thread seals the deal.

Same thing this morning. The activation requests last four digits of SSN and then gives the “Authentication Failed” message. I was getting error 412 with no SSN request late afternoon yesterday, but the process reverted to requesting SSN last night and is the same today.
[doublepost=1506248050][/doublepost]I’ve just contacted T-Mobile support via Twitter and here the response for what it’s worth:

“Thanks for filling me in on the account information. No-one wants to have to wait on new devices, for sure! You are correct, we are well aware and fully engaged, and currently still working on the business account activations currently, and have high hopes this will be resolved today! We appreciate you hanging in there with us, while we get these bugs worked out!”

I got a call yesterday from John Legere’s office. They apologized and said it’s actually industry wide issue with business accounts and customers who bought from Apple directly. They are working on it but have no ETA :/

How about having T-Mobile convert some business accounts to personal ones without losing any promotions? I have a small business, and only family members are on the T-Mobile business account. I should never have chosen the business account when I was switching from AT&T to T-Mobile. To me it makes no difference if the account is personal or business.

Called again this morning. They still could not activate my watch. Really really horrible launch for Tmobile. They need to get their act together. All the beautiful marketing they do and uncarrier slogans are of no use unless they can provide decent customer service and do a basic activation for a new product they knew was coming.

Same thing happened to me. Other than my bill, i regret switching to T-Mobile @Work. It has been a thorn in my side being a business customer since day one. Every change, every new device. It’s always an issue. That and, their customer service people are almost never has familiar with the plans available to business customers. They also seem to not even have basic bill simulators. I’ve asked if I switch to a different plan how it would affect my bill and I get a different answer from every rep. They have such a good potential product but sometimes I’d literally be willing to pay a bit more and switch back to AT&T.

I went to the T-Mobile store this morning and they basically told me the same thing. It’s a known issue and none of these business account watches can be activated at the moment. It’s really frustrating to have a brand new LTE capable watch and not be able to activate it. They don’t have an ETA for when this issue will be resolved. Thank you very much T-Mobile. If anyone is able to activate their watch soon please post here so the rest of us can as well.
