I'm willing to wait because they still don't sell any Nike branded bands on their own and I know the reflective band will be no exception.

Not sure where people get this idea that one cannot buy the Nike+ bands without a watch, but here is a link to the current Nike+ Volt band.

The only differences are the Nike+ faces and the ability to start Nike+ Run Club using Siri on the watch.

I find it hard to believe Apple pays Nike a royalty although I have nothing to contradict that notion. If anything the value is added to the Nike side and I'd see them (Nike) paying Apple before the other way around. Brand exposure, and lots of valuable data.

who wouldn’t want extras, right? So those people are now faced with a decision to buy now or wait.

Impatience can be expensive.

I fully expect Nike (Fortune 500 #89) is paying some royalties to Apple (Fortune 500 #4) to get their brand exposure and app inclusion onto Apple's platform.

I see it as a current version of Nike's previous integration with the iPod Nano -- as well aNike's partnership with TomTom

But you can't buy the new Nike bands yet. You'll probably be able at some point in the future, but currently they are exclusive to the Nike watches.

Assuming the past pattern holds, then yes you will be able to buy them separately. Which is then an added cost.

Though it's not like the Nike+ version costs a penny more than the regular version. They're priced the same.

If someone wants the Nike version, simply wait.

Patience is a virtue. Impatience is expensive.

(and don't be one of those jackholes intentionally abusing the return policy due to having the patience of a two year old...) (not directed at anyone in particular, just a general comment)

Haha, agreed! I ordered the Nike version and will just wait the extra 2 weeks. I knew that before I placed the order and figured being patient will pay off as I'll have more watch faces in the long run.

At this point I don't remember the couple weeks I waited for the S3 Nike version last year.

I do know I'm very happy I did since I like the nike digital watch face best of all the faces.

I'll have a look at the S4 in person sometime but presently am not feeling any particular need to upgrade from my S3

The one I listed is the current Nike+ Sport Band. Apple’s site lists sport loops, but none says Nike Sport Loop. I would guess that the new Nike Sport Loop will be available when the Nike+ watches ship (or shortly thereafter).

Well, YMMV. We all have our own aesthetic preferences — it’s what makes he world go ‘round. But to me, a light background like this reminds me of this, which depending on your preferences, may or may not be a bad thing. I don’t want to wear a CRT TV from the 1970s on my wrist. ;-) fortunately for me, most of the apps use a solid black background.

Ha, that's the YouTube app from iOS 5. Kinda miss that. It obviously depends. I think neither of those watch faces are that pretty. The one on the left is just a complicated mess. That nike one is alright. However I really do like that vapor one.

I'm waiting 4 weeks to get the new reflective loop band, even though I ordered it the moment the site was back up.

Ship times on just about everything were pretty much unchanged when I checked out... but the reflective loop band was showing October 16-19 from the beginning.

I'm willing to wait because they still don't sell any Nike branded bands on their own and I know the reflective band will be no exception.

I still have my old Series 3 Nike band (Apple doesn't take your old band when you trade it in), and my old Series Zero while I wait.

For the first few minutes the reflective loop band model was showing October 5 delivery on the Apple store app on my iPhone. Now it would be better to wait until store pickup becomes available. There will probably be some available on Oct 5.

Going to wait for this as well.

Might go the Best Buy route and trade in my AW3 42mm Nike w/LTE but they are only offering $125 while Apple is offering $225. Only perk would be points with Best Buy credit card purchase.

Decisions decisions...

Too bad Best Buy allows you to apply the GiftCard to the purchase it was rewarded for. That sucks.

But will it stop you from getting that deal. Refunding it right there and then and the. Processing a new purchase with the GiftCard? ;)

- only useful if it’s another non Apple product to buy at the “best” store. Personally I’d go for Apple.

Ps is that offer only in the USA?

My guess is that the delay is probably caused by the Nike Run Club app. The Apple Watch Nike+ Series 3 last year had a delayed launch too, and an update for the NRC app dropped around the launch of the new watch. The Nike team probably needed time to optimize the NRC app for the new Apple Watch and they could only do that once watchOS 5 is finalized, hence the delay.

I think it’s just the bands causing the delay. I don’t recall the S3 Nike+ having any delay last year. Not in Canada as best I recall yet I can’t be 100% certain.

I currently have a Series 2 in Stainless Steel. I like the Stainless Steel, but I like some of the advantages of the Nike version too. I just don't love the aluminum case. Can anyone help me decide between the two options?

I was really hoping for the stainless steel and the deeper black for the Nike+ versions this year. Doesn’t make sense that those more physically active would have the softer metal.

Why is no1 talking about the new reflective bands I want to see those in a video or pictures

Not everyone is a runner nor wishes to be a glow worm ;)

I see he exchange done equally - Nike gets more runners into their services, Apple gets more fitness knowledge from Nike and a new stylish offering to help sell their watches to a more workout/fitness/health conscious demographic than what would normally occur. Sure Nike plays Apple for the marketing and brand partnership but the marketing itself isn’t exclusive to Apple only:

New bands with nike VapourMax 1 and it’ll occur again.

I'm going for the Nike+ model because I already have the Nike black sport loop and the regular sport loop. Now i'll have the new black sport loop with reflective fibers plus Nike watch faces as an option should I want to switch it up sometime. I already have a refurbished Series 3 so my goal was to build upon that.

[doublepost=1537446814][/doublepost]It’s only one band that has the reflective fibers. I purchased the black, thinking the same. Only the platinum white band is reflective

Did you purchase the Nike+ Apple Watch? Both the white and the black have reflective fibers. Not all of them but just enough to be visible when light is shined on it.

Only the platinum white band is reflective
What makes you say that?

The photos online show lighter-colored fibers in the new black band, which would be consistent with having retroreflective fibers woven into the band. I've used similar reflective-fiber enhanced cord for tent guylines and the stuff works well.

CaptMarvel, let me help you with that decision. Lets assume you are choosing the Nike+ 44mm and getting LTE. That's a $529 watch. Even if you already get 6% back with your credit card as an elite member, that would be ~$31.80 in rewards. And even if it is that golden purchase that makes you ElitePlus, that only increases what you get back by 1% on future purchases, and only makes a difference on purchases made between this one and when you would otherwise have become an ElitePlus member, so, with the $68.20 difference between what you get in BestBuy rewards trade in ($125+$31.8) vs $225, unless that next purchase is going to be a $6,820 purchase, it's pretty obvious you should take your watch to Apple and get yourself an extra $100 in trade in value (if you really like your Best Buy Rewards, I think you can still get 1% even there by using your Best Buy Credit Card).

I had no idea the Nike version was delayed to oct 5th, even after reading all the pre launch info. Like a dope I went to the store on launch day waited in line and found out that way..To be honest even the apple employees didn't know until they asked a manager. I had a trip to Disney next day and wanted a watch for it so I bought the regular watch and plan on exchanging it. Apple actually recommended do it that way.

It's a sweet watch, love all the new features and form factor, and one could easily live with this with just the Nike App on the regular version. I just want the watch faces, which is purely aesthetic.

I never noticed. Meanwhile I know they don't sell them on Amazon, but there's a ton of clones.

I feel so strange waiting this long just for that particular band even though I got up at 3am to order it, and anyone can just walk into a store and get a non-Nike+ version.
