I just ordered a Series 5 Space Gray Aluminum 44mm with Clementine Sport Band to replace my Series 4 Space Gray Aluminum 44mm that my friend is buying from me. I'm excited for the always on face. Pick up on launch day, hopefully along with my iPhone 11 Pro Max!

SG/LTE 44 with Alaskan Blue for me.

I’ve had every one since S0 and was thinking of waiting S5 out, but Always On was the kicker.

An update to my earlier post (to give an additional data point for others tracking their order).

Yesterday I ordered AW5 Space Gray 44mm Aluminum from Apple.com and the delivery date was October 8-15. Best Buy has the same model that delivers on release day--September 20--so I ordered from BB and cancelled my order from Apple.

Posting just in case you are looking for delivery on release day.

Beware of Best Buy and release day. But I hope it works out for you.

B3FD9BB7-DBB5-4519-88DB-1F205CDA90FB.jpeg Upgrading from Series 2. Ordered aluminum 40mm with yellow sports band. Disappointed with the $50 they offered as a trade-in. The 2 still works great. Can you keep 2 watches on the same account? I could wear the old one when I go to the beach and not worry about ruining my new one.

As stated above, be VERY leery of BB. Every year they promise release day delivery and every year they get delayed. Hopefully stock is sufficient this year that all 3rd parties have them available for release day.

Hi Lobwedgephil: Have you (or others watching this thread) had negative experiences with Best Buy promising delivery of Apple products on release day but not fulfilling that promise?

I'd be grateful to hear any feedback, positive or negative.

Cheers!

Thanks, fishkorp! I didn't realize that Best Buy had a bad reputation for release day deliveries. I'll keep my Best Buy order for now (after all, I already cancelled my Apple.com order... Doh!) and hope that my AW5 shows up on release day.

I'll be sure to post updates on this thread.

I upgraded from 42mm Black stainless steel series 2, to 44mm black titanium. Hate that i hesitated, because ship date is 27th, or oct 5th :(

Since I seem susceptible to upgrading my watch with nearly every update, I'm sticking with AL. Less expensive, lighter, and I've not had any issues with scratches. As soon as the store came up on the Apple Store app, ordered 44mm, SG, Al, cellular matched up with anchor grey sports loop. Delivery on the 20th.
Totally agree. This is my fourth Apple Watch and I’m staying with aluminum to feel better about upgrading more often. I have never had any scratches. Neither has my husband who still has a series one aluminum!

I ordered 40mm gold aluminum with gold stainless steel Milanese loop band for delivery September 20th.

Just ordered my Series 5 and so happy to be back in the AW game!!

One problem, they closed 2 of my stores that were nearby and now the closest one is about an hour away so I chose delivery. I will definitely not be home Friday so can I leave something on the door for the delivery place to leave it?
Does Apple usually use FedEx?

Looking forward to joining the discussion around here and being AW buddies! :)

My 9/26-> order hasn't prepared for ship yet, but many peoples 9/20 orders have, and I suspect the rest will follow pretty soon. I think we all will likely get our orders faster than the estimates which is often the case with Apple new releases.

You are going to want to skim through this thread. It seems Best Buy did not do a good job getting customers their watches on release date last year. The weird thing is that this year it says under Pre-Order "FREE Shipping: Get it by Release Day Fri, Sep 20". So I am not sure.

44mm Ti with Anchor Black sport band. I was concerned the Ti May look too much like the aluminum but this hands on video convinced me to go Ti with no reservations. Looks outstanding!

I agree, the Titanium looks nice and significantly different than the Silver Aluminum. The Space Black Titanium however to me looks nearly indistinguishable from Space Gray Aluminum until you get within 12 inches. You the wearer might notice the brushed look but with Space Gray Titanium the rest of the world will assume you have the $399 watch.

I disagree. It’s deeper and more textured than the aluminum. People that have Apple watches will know. And people that don’t won’t know how much any Apple Watch costs. But above all else, who really cares what other people think you paid for what?

Wife and I ordered ours right after the announcement - Sept 20 est date with preparing to ship statuses as of yesterday.

We were offered $60 on our AW3 GPSs. We're trading in most likely. Did get a lot of use out of these things. We got GPS only - not ready to shell out $120+/year for LTE.

I hear you, before I even pressed "post reply" I knew perhaps I came off too much like "I want people to know I spent the big $$$$" when that isn't exactly what I mean, so I regret how it sounded. I know what you are saying about a slightly deeper and more textured look than space gray aluminum but I think the color is so close and the texture so hard to see beyond a foot or two it would be indistinguishable, I would argue, to almost anyone even avid Apple Watch users. I guess I would notice the subtle difference on my own wrist. There is nothing wrong with owning an Aluminum model (and in fact this just go to show how nice Space Gray Aluminum looks) but when I buy a premium model (I wear a SBSS S4) I not only want sapphire glass, I want a distinctive look to the case that is more rare and I just feel that Space Black Titanium just isn't distinctive enough from other very, very, very commonly purchased options (I'd argue from anecdotal evidence that Space Gray Aluminum was THE most commonly purchased option for the Series 4) to make me feel my extra money paid to make the watch unique.

That's a silly question about caring what people think . And also the main reason why the Green iPhone Pro will be their best seller this year lol.

Seriously, I'd much rather have Titanium than Aluminum, but to each their own. The aluminum watch looks cheap to me and the screen scratches much easier than any of the other versions.
