It’s fun to watch the armchair prognosticators figure out exactly what this event is going to include. To a point, I really don’t care, especially given it’s only a week away, so it’s not like we have to wait months to figure things out. If they don’t launch iPhone, we’ll know that there will be yet another launch event this year - which will mean it will happen in either October or November. And even if that is how it plays out, we’re still only talking less than 90 days and we’ll know all the new things Apple is going to launch this year.

So iPhone is included???

2 hours for Apple watch and iPad Air is not enough time. What are they going to do take one hour to announce each product, LOL.

Apple is the best when it comes to keeping a SECRET. No one seems to know the exact truth.
It may be a services addition/update. Or they may want to delve really heavily into new watch features.

I was hoping they would just release a new product per week all autumn. But if they’re going to do events, maybe:

September event:
  • Apple Watch
  • Air Tags
  • Apple TV with new remote
  • iPad Air
October Event:
  • iPhone 12 and 12 Pro
  • Smaller HomePod
  • AirPods Studio headphones
  • MacBook Air with Apple Silicon

Well, if it lasts only 30 minutes, time will really fly by!

Here's another one though - "Time Flies" = time of flight = LIDAR camera = AR?
Actually the event will last 2 hours. You can it yourself by adding the event to your calender. It shows from 10:00 to 12:00.

And what i believe is Apple will introduce the new iPhones in the event as it seems it doesn’t make sense the event will last 2 hours without the new iPhones introduction.

But we will see the truth next week.

I doubt it will be 2 hours... even an hour 1/2 is stretching it for WWDC... Its probably showing 2 hours because they will start the stream at 10... Then the actually stream will play at some point. Lots of, if not all, Youtube streams are like this.

It would be a hey here is what’s coming in December. I doubt Apple will have another live streamed event just for Apple Silicon Macs... This event must be it. They also wouldn’t just update their website with hey here are Arm Macs. They need to tell people why they want Arm Macs over Intel in the event
They will probably announce quietly through a press release later. Apple has already announced ARM Macs on big stage. Form factor of MacBooks would most probably remain same. Nothing to visually show off of Apple silicon.

TBH, I think everyone is taking the metadata information a little too seriously. I don't think it means anything. The event is going to be short (~ 1 hour, 30 min for Apple Watch and 30 min for iPad Air) and that is it. No Apple Silicon Macs, Apple Studio headphones, or anything else. Short and sweet and simple.

As we saw with the WWDC event, Apple pre-records the event (probably filming the event right now or at some point this week) and then edits it and posts it on streaming sites as a live event.

I think the reason for the metadata is just to make searching for the event easier for users. After all, that is what metadata is used for, to make searches easier and more specific.

I can fully understand Apple holding a (virtual) event for just Apple Watch and iPad Air if those products are ready to go and iPhone is not...they aren't going to artificially hold them back just to announce them alongside iPhone.

I can also see Apple preferring not to announce iPhone now if it isn't releasing until end of October/November. They always aim to give the smallest amount of lead time possible to prevent short term impact on iPhone sales.

There is a whole month to go before Apple will want to announce iPhone given that timeframe. And with everything being virtual, aka just pre-recorded videos, they can do whatever they want rather easily.

AirTags is a terrible name - sounds like something you need to see a proctologist for. Let's hope they chose something else.

Pretty underwhelmed with watch 6 rumours so far. I’d honestly trade all the “you might be dying right now” gadgetry for just good old longer battery life...

Not really. ‘Underwhelming’ would be depending on which model you’re upgrading from. If you were a S5 owner, there’s probably no reason for you to upgrade to the S6. However Series 3 and under, this is the target demographic for this specific watch, depending which features are improved, which all likely need is health related, with some battery tweaking. Apple doesn’t expect consumers to upgrade the watch every year, it’s more like every other generation, and given that they have at least three years of watchOS updates, I don’t think consumers generally are focused on every feature it offers.

Did no one notice that the "Macbook" keyword is spelled with a lowercase "b"? I've never seen Apple make grammatical mistakes with the casing of letters in its product names. All current MacBook products in its line-up have an uppercase "B". The other "MacBook Pro" keyword has correct casing. Maybe a hint at an upcoming name change, starting with Apple Silicon? 🤷‍♂️

The watch is going to be the biggest deal/news since the EKG is now authorized in Japan.

No way- I think a press release will happen after they show off Arm Macs and reveal the price at this event. And I think Apple will update the form factor. This is a big deal. Apple wouldn’t just quietly announce it. They will go big for it

Pretty much the same kind of talk about the name iPad 10 years ago. Remember all the feminine hygiene product jokes? Now no one even thinks of that.
