Time -> Time of Flight sensors on new iPhones, coupled with U1 chip (or similar) and the new AirTags - I expect that they will demonstrate how you can see - in augmented reality - EXACTLY where one of these tags is on your iPhone or iPad screen (same for the new Apple TV remote).

The U1 chip in the last generation of phones has been a bit of a sleeper - I expect to see what it's really capable of next week.

Does anyone think this means new Apple TV and Mac models as well, given the included keywords, or is Apple just trying to get anyone searching for Apple products to learn about the video/event?
Pretty sure it’s the latter. They’re just tags. This is not source code or anything.

I really hope this series 6 gives me a reason to upgrade from my SS4. I get pretty good battery life, but i would like to go 3 days without having to charge it. I know automatic watches typically have 38-70 hrs power reserve. If apple could hit that 70 hour mark, that would be amazing, but sleep tracking and blood oxygen... nah.

I believe the automatic watches self-wind as you wear them, regular mechanical ones you need to wind and have the reserve.

Kinda the same thing I was thinking. A regular watch I do not wear to bed so why would I with Apples watch? I have the 3 GPS and was thinking of getting the 5 Aluminum GPS + Cellular. The fitness apps are fine for what I need but the rumored 6 will have a BT connecttion with a Dexcom transmitter for Blood sugar which I can only imagine the cost of that. & blood oxygen which for me I'm not seeing a use for. Have 2 week return period.

Time flies. It's just a reference to how far the Watch has come, in a relatively short amount of time. That's it. It's not a reference to Air...anything, time of flight, or any other surprises. It's about the Watch. Oh, and one more thing. An updated iPad.

I am curious to see if the Series 6 watch will offer anything aside from additional heath monitoring and a faster processor will offer as the series 5 was a minor update to the Series 4

Time Flies:

A little over five years ago we launched the original Apple Watch. (Picture of the original, various features, Tim Cook details the progression of features over the years)

We've come a long way, (some more BS), it is now time, we are proud to announce the Apple Watch 6, now fully independent of the Iphone.

(Cook will list all of the advantages of utilizing the Apple Watch with the Iphone)

But we now present the first smartwatch that does not require an Iphone, the first fully independent smartwatch in the world.

Actually the event will last 2 hours. You can it yourself by adding the event to your calender. It shows from 10:00 to 12:00.

And what i believe is Apple will introduce the new iPhones in the event as it seems it doesn’t make sense the event will last 2 hours without the new iPhones introduction.

But we will see the truth next week.

The Apple Event calendar events are always 2 hours, no matter how long the actual event is supposed to be. It’s just an approximation.

Not really. ‘Underwhelming’ would be depending on which model you’re upgrading from. If you were a S5 owner, there’s probably no reason for you to upgrade to the S6. However Series 3 and under, this is the target demographic for this specific watch, depending which features are improved, which all likely need is health related, with some battery tweaking. Apple doesn’t expect consumers to upgrade the watch every year, it’s more like every other generation, and given that they have at least three years of watchOS updates, I don’t think consumers generally are focused on every feature it offers.
Yes really. Underwhelming as in, that’s how I see it. For me. But thanks for the armchair business lesson lol

If this was not a covid related mixup of all them dates this would actually almost make sense for a stand alone event with Watch as the main event feature.

Yes, pretty sure this will be the new 249$ entry model, or maybe they call it SE..

That would be neat. But the redesign/newness of the Six would need to be pretty big to warrant such a steep difference in price.

The "Time Flies" tagline is intriguing, you are probably correct though that we are at least one or two years away from a fully independent smartwatch.

I heard someone somewhere say that "time" = apple watch and "flies" = Air... wich might be the highly suspected iPad Air.
