The charge for my watch is still appearing on my bank account. I think it's going to ship soon. Otherwise it wouldn't have hit until the weekend.

DO NOT trust Best Buy in providing you a release day delivery for anything. I made the mistake of trusting them last year because they had a midnight green iPhone 11 Pro Max for launch day pickup; that was a big lie. I've heard lots of other horror stories about them.
Ive never had an issue with apple watches there I get each new one there no issue

i ordered mine 10 min after the store was up and I got sept 25 oct 7 hopefully gets sooner than that. I haven’t get charge yet for the watch I guess I won’t be getting it by Friday 😩

I think there was that much demand. I ordered watches yesterday within 10 minutes of the Apple store going back online and mine are still processing. I ordered just standard aluminum also, regular bands.

Must be certain ones. I ordered 40mm series 6 cobalt blue aluminum and a charcoal sports band? And I ordered about 1-2 hours later. Mines preparing to ship. Says 25-29 and I did use Apple Card financing so we shall see.

By the way for people wondering why financing? I just pay it off after 2 months. No biggie.

Bands played a big difference in delivery dates. I ordered a Red 44 and the default sport loop pushed it to end of September into October. Changed the band to silicone and says Friday the 18th.

I only picked the plain sport band also. I went through my work site because I get a 2% discount but you can’t get anything but the default sport band, the rubberized one. Hopefully they ship on time.

Can someone explain how ordering day of presentation works? I’ve never ordered day of presentation or even a month after release. So how has this been processed in the past?

Like do a variety of orders that showed longer rages ship sooner? Do some take longer than expected? Do some ship just as it mentions? Again I’m new to this order day of presentation. I keep checking going “has it shipped yet” haha.

It really depends on what was ordered and the location of delivery. Who knows what is going to happen with the COVID focused deliveries. We could see deliveries sooner than expected, as there is no hold by Apple to the shippers, like there is with the iPhones.

iPhones have holds? Is that cellular related like TMobile won’t allow them to ship until X date? Or is it imports hold?

Okay so sounds like these don’t have similar patterns due to pandemic. :-/.

Yes, the phones have holds on them where they can’t be delivered early. That is not the case with the watches. I would imagine UPS and Fed EX will work quickly to get the watches delivered.

Typically for iPhones, Apple does places a hold so they don't deliver too early than the actual launch date. Note that these are for the pre-order iPhones only.

So example would be is if Apple starts pre-order on the 18th and the launch date is the 25th, Apple places a brief hold for UPS and Fedex not to deliver earlier than the launch date.

I had a blue 44mm cellular with the braided loop that was scheduled to arrive 11/12 to 11/18. I ordered that last last night. Just cancelled and reordered with the regular sport band (blue) and now scheduled 10/1 to 10/5. Would have been earlier had I done this last night but wasn't sure. I also went ahead and put a blue braided band on order to arrive 11/13. Hate having to pay an extra $100 for it though...
