Does this mean it’s cleared customs? You’d think I’d remember from all the other times I’ve been neurotic about receiving an Apple shipment from China in a timely manner, but my mind is completely blank right now. 🥴

I thought the same here in LA. Was super surprised this morning to see there are several stores offering curbside pick up. I don’t need to go into the store to get my watch today!
nice! Curbside pickup would have been slick— not really possible at the store I went to, but they had me in and out really quickly. Fastest visit to an Apple store on a launch day ever, haha. I guess I’ve never done Apple Watch on launch day... usually 2-3 months later I track on down @ Best Buy. Might be interesting to see what iPhone 12 pick-up is like...

Well I’m still stuck in preparing to ship with no tracking info found on UPS or FedEx. Apple store closest to me had both models I needed so I caved and drove to the closest store which was still a little drive and picked them up with minimal wait, longest part of the pickup was me going back to my car to get my drivers license to show them. A little frustrated I have to deal with shipping the others back but it is what it is.

I got order confirmation at 1:48 PM last Tuesday and I'm still in "preparing to ship" for few days now. Supposedly arrives Sep 25 - Sep 29. I see many people got same dates got shipped already, so what's up with that????

Having owned every iPhone and Apple Watch, I can reassure you this is normal. Basically any time it passes through a customs process, they change it to tentative as the customs agency technically could hold the shipment for further review etc.

Of course that never happens and Apple's products spend very little time in customs. Once your watch gets a couple more scans the language should be updated to reflect a delivery date. Almost always the date remains the same.

Thanks!

I haven't ordered yet, wanted to give myself a couple of days to think about what style to get - and now the delivery dates are mid-November as others have reported, and some styles (i.e. Product Red) are currently unavailable!

My tracking is exactly the same, looks like our watches are shipment buddies 😆.

Looks nice.
I am also moving up from S3 ATT.
How did the transfer of cellular plan go for you? Was it just unpair and repair, or did you have get into all the number synch stuff like 3 years ago?

Seamless transition, as was the Series 4 two years ago, at least on T-Mobile, as everything was done automatically during the restore process from our 4 Series.

I followed the trend, gave up on the one I ordered that has been in "Preparing to Ship" for 3 days now and bought the same one from my local Apple Store. Pickup window was available this afternoon so will pick it up and return the online order when I get it. Selection was limited locally but fortunately they had the one I wanted so no waiting.
