Ordered a 44mm GPS with the blue braided loop. Luckily I don't have to wait a whole month but I just broke my OG series 0 yesterday so just picked up the regular Navy sport band today in store while waiting 🙃

still no movement (stuck at preparing to ship). so i ordered it at the local Apple Store early this morning, which had it in stock no problem. i've already picked it up and have it on, looks good.
apple support said the online order is too far along to cancel (even though it hasn't shipped yet). so i'll have to return it whenever it ends up delivering.
FWIW, i've pre-ordered many apple products over the years, and this seems like a really big botched effort on their part. i see so many users in this forum in the same boat, waiting on orders they placed within minutes of the store coming back up that haven't shipped and yet are still sitting available at local stores. that's pretty bad, especially when you throw COVID into the mix and most people won't be going to local stores to get them anyway.

Bay Area here. Tired of seeing "Preparing to Ship" status, I ordered mine for pickup from Apple Hillsdale. 2 AW6 and 1 SE for the fam. Between re-configuring and ordering, I got notification saying they ran out of my combo at Infinite Loop store and Stevens Creek store.
If you dont want to wait, and dont mind the monies stuck till return, Pick up is a good option to get it right away.

I ordered my store pickup an hour ago (EST) and pick up later this afternoon.
They seem to have plenty.
Will return the prep for shipment once it is here.

Yep, we are lucky ones with a store nearby that's open. I feel bad for others on here not so fortunate and that ordered immediately when pre-orders came up.

I ordered a 40mm Silver Stainless Steel with a blue braided solo loop within 20 minutes after the apple online store re-opened. I have a delivery date of 9/25 - 9/29 and have been stuck in "Preparing to Ship" since early yesterday morning.
Hoping that everyone in the 25-28th delivery window gets their watches early. I was in that window. My shipment is in China today. I was in that window. Right now UPS is saying expected delivery of Monday 9/21. If that holds Apple is definitely doing better than the original estimates. I’m on my way to do in store pick up and will be returning my online order when it gets here.
Same here. I’m in Alabama. Ordered silver stainless 44mm White sport band. Delivery dates are same as yours and hasn’t changed status. CC not yet charged.
I thought the same here in LA. Was super surprised this morning to see there are several stores offering curbside pick up. I don’t need to go into the store to get my watch today!

I got the same; but a quick peek at UPS My Choice shows I now have a tentative scheduled delivery for Monday. Hopefully that was the reschedule. 😅
Just picked up my new Series 6 Nike Apple Watch. I had ordered it within the first hour available on Tuesday, but it is still "preparing to ship". This morning the "pending charge" disappeared from my account balance so I ordered it for pick up today and just got back from picking it up at the local store. When the previously ordered one shows up, I will return it for a refund.
