Come on Apple, Getting tired of being one of the first ones to purchase a new Apple product online only to have my local Apple store have the product on launch day while my online order is still “preparing to ship”. Exactly the case with the Apple Watch. Yesterday, launch day, I had in my hands exactly what I ordered within an hour of the store opening while my online order status was still preparing to ship. What’s the incentive to purchase online? Come on Apple, no way to treat loyal customers. By the way, as I sit here typing this, my order status has changed to shipped and will now arrive on September 28. Really?
I got the same exact model. My tracking shows that it is still in China, awaiting clearance. Hopefully, I get the watch before next Friday.

It’s in customs for longer than normal... which means we probably won’t get it until Tuesday or Wednesday - unless it clears customs soon.
Mine is there too for the same time. It's hanging out in customs. We see this every year with the iPhones too. They can sit there a couple days but as long as it's in KY by tomorrow night we'll still see them delivered on Monday. The logistics behind keeping the UPS/FedEx hub running must be mind boggling for mere mortals like ourselves.
It appears my watch is traveling in good company. 44mm SBTi ordered the evening of 9/16 in the US. Just got the shipping notice from Apple this morning with a 9/28 delivery date. No date from UPS yet.
I agree. This watch launch was a mess. Prefer the way they usually do. Pre-orders at the designated hour, delivery week after.
Very annoyed today myself, ordered a Hermes on launch day, told it'd be here the 18th and then on the 18th it went to Delayed Sept 30th to October 5th. Never had that happen before.
Processing, customs, etc. thru Shanghai. Hopefully ours make it on UPS81 in about 7 hours.

I think there is a delay for the Hermès models. Their own website says they are available for preorder now, but won’t ship til after September 19th and then it says they aren’t available until early October. I think the delay is on Hermès end. My SBSS Series 6 44mm with Noir has a ship date of 9/30 to 10/7. Yet I ordered the noir deployment clasp and that is being delivered today and that is at a local apple fulfillment center.
just have to sit tight. I sold my Hermès Series 5 and shipped that off yesterday and I am really missing my Apple Watch

At least for US bound watches that have been sitting in Shanghai since Friday, it is not really that they are in customs longer than usual. The most likely delay is that the watches didn't ship and pass through customs export in time before the last (actually only) UPS flight of the day out of Shanghai (PVG) departed. UPS 105 only operates M-F and our watches clearly missed the last UPS flight of the week. Unless UPS is utilizing other metal (industry term for another carrier), our watches will not leave PVG until Monday. Depending on where you are in the US, you are looking at a Tue/Wed delivery if the watch departs PVG on Monday. UPS 105 flies PVG-KIX-ANC-SDF...translation Shanghai-Kansai-Anchorage-Louisville. If you see scans for your watch reflecting those cities, then you know that your watch is on the move.
My titanium is on order with a 9/30 - 10/2 range. I’ve seen everybody talking about waltzing in and picking up their ordered watch so I decided to check out my local store. Security stopped me before I even got close and said they have no stock available for walk-ins. Every model and band variation I tried showed not available for pickup.
Left Apple and tried Best Buy. They had no idea a titanium model existed. Only Series 6 available was a blue 42mm. Headed to Target from there and all they had was 38mm Series 3s. Verizon was my last hope and the only one they had in stock was a rose gold Series 5.
This reminds me of hunting for a new phone back in the iPhone 5/s days. They must’ve really pared down their production this year. Thanks COVID!

Thanks for the info, I actually ordered 2, one double tour and one single for myself. The double got here on time yesterday the single is MIA for the next year it seems heh. What a bummer i was so looking forward to it, both were on time and then not. I don't love waiting but it was weird to both be due at the same time and then one WAY out of spec.
Titanium models are Edition Watch and only sold at Apple Stores. You won’t find it elsewhere unfortunately. 😕
Last year only Apple stores had Titanium as well, and not all of them. Bet you get yours quicker, my Titanium 9/25-9/29 order should be delivered Monday or Tuesday.
I hope this isn’t the case, but my initial order for a watch looked just like this. The reason was that the “watch studio” let me order my watch with an “Anchor Grey” sport loop. “Anchor Grey” is last years model. This years model is called ”Charcoal”.
Because the “Anchor Grey” is not available, I got a text and email that said there was a problem with my order. I called Apple, and my order was marked invalid and was told that I had to submit a new order because my other order included a discontinued item. The new order had a delivery date of Mid to Late October.
The Apple person said they were going to have a manager call me back (currently the queue is 5 days) and see what they could do about moving me back to my place in line instead of putting me at the end.
Fortunately, I was able to secure a watch today from my local Apple store (I’m picking it up in a couple hours)., so I will be cancelling the October order after I receive my new watch.
I would suggest calling Apple and seeing if they can confirm the watch band and maybe correct it before your order gets cancelled. I’m not sure their system can do this, though. My only option was to cancel my existing order and place a new one.
