I think you're looking at a longer lead time between pre-order date and delivery time like we've seen with the new iMac's and iPad Pro's. Forget about the days when it was announce new iPhone on Tue for order on Fri and delivery the following Fri. SAD!Small scale only last week? For a roll out in September?
Because lots gets lost in translation. Someone probably heard there was a delay. Which could mean literally anything.Sigh. Don’t we hear about production issues a few weeks leading up to the event??? In July we hear about production issues for iPhone, then late August it’s a specific issue which will cause a delay. This happens every year only to find out that things are running smooth before the main event…

Makes no sense. Chinese were able to put The clone Apple watch 7 into the market and a 2.1 trillion dollar company is struggling with the production? hahalmao I thought the same. It’s cause the quality of the design blows! Chinese knockoffs already out. Most likely apple has a few and checking them out. Then find the leaked source.
Folks! Let me save you with a headache. This report is bogus.
Just wait till one more week, Tuesday, September 07th for an Apple event announcement.
The production itself started last week? This makes no sense. But this report is coming from a highly reliable source. I hope Apple manages to pull it off.
Maybe this is a marketing trick Apple is throwing off.
Not really as long as May. iPhones for example usually begin being manufactured at the end of July.i call bs. they only started making these in the last two weeks?
odds are that there are warehouses of these, under lock and key, that have been manufactured since May.
Totally agree. Apple is weeding out leakersThis may be a fake rumor Apple is using to weed out leakers. Or just another annual "production issue" story.
Apple starts sourcing components well before the month of a product release, but assembly generally doesn't begin that far in advance. You also need to keep in mind that loading the software onto the devices before shipping is somewhat limited by the software's development cycle. As an example, in recent years, the last beta released to the public in mid-late August is typically the same build that ships on new hardware in September. Apple is ahead internally in terms of builds, but I'd place my bet on hardware manufacturing really beginning 3-4 weeks before it goes on sale and not much further in advance.
