Guess I will be keeping my S4 for another year - Design alone plus faces is not sufficient, want to see new health features
I think I’m in the same boat as you. Blood Oxygen sensor just wasn’t enough for me to plop down for the S6 and it’s highly likely that no other must have features are coming to the S7 that would warrant me buying another watch. I’m still using my S2 for overnight monitoring so unless it bites the dust before the S8 comes out or my S4 stops lasting all day then really no compelling reason to get a new watch.

I got my S4 replaced under AC+ like 3 months ago, so it is pristine and battery health at 100%, so I need a real compelling (health) feature

Wow, several new faces, thanks Apple, absolutely incredible!! /s

The trickle of watch faces has been the biggest disappointment of the Apple Watch. At least give us a configurable digital face where we can change how the time looks (different fonts...) and where the complications are positioned on screen.

I basically only use my watch for activity tracking and messages while also glancing at the time. As the "most personal device" - Apple's own words - it really lacks any personalization.

Man, without any new health features, I don't know how Apple will be able to market this device and hype it up. At least with the S6, you got the inclusion of the blood oxygen sensor and faster charging.

The rumors point to the redesign as being the noticeable big change from the S6, which doesn't sound like much....Apple will really have to lean in on the redesign and hype it up...because from a health standpoint, it doesn't seem like the S7 will be including any new sensors...
A new design is plenty for lots of people to upgrade.

Besides, there are always people upgrading from older models who will still be getting new features.

The watch face I've always wanted is Infograph but with numbers instead of tick marks. It also doesn't need to sweep smoothly like a Rolex - I'm sure you could save some power by updating the face only every second.

ok, so perhaps they can add more complications to more faces? infograph is the only face(that i have found) that has enough complications — the rest of them fail miserably in that department. sadly infograph doesn't display your cellular signal.

keep in mind that the second hand only moves when you raise the watch — when it's just sitting there only the hour and minute hands are displayed. i was hoping to find a nice gmt II face, but infograph is the best.

They don’t really think a lot of S7 purchasers will be S6 owners. So they just need to explain why the S7 is better than competitors, and better than S0, S1, S2, S3, S4, and, to some extent, S5.
I don’t understand why people don’t get this, but it keeps coming up. Apple isn’t expecting everyone to buy a new watch (or phone) every year, but leaving their design stagnant until person X felt like buying a new one would condemn everyone else to aging models.

Are there really people out there who buy a new car every single year? And do they think everyone else does too?

I don’t need to try it on to know that if I have my wrist bent back with the edge pushed into my skin it’s not going to be comfortable.
I agree with you and have the same concern. However, Apple could surprise us with a flat design that somehow still manages to feel incredibly comfortable.

They achieved that with the AirPods Max. Had you told before they were released that the headband of Apple's new headphones would consist of two steel rods with a very thin piece of fabric and yet would feel as soft as a pillow sitting on top of one's head, I never would have believed it. And yet, that's exactly what we got.
