For the last three months I've traveled to the following US cities:
Chicago
Boston
Atlanta
Seattle
San Diego

I stopped counting all the Apple Watches I saw in the cities or on the airlines.
Amazing number of people with Apple Watches. All styles with nylon straps, classic buckle, leather loop.

I was so surprised I had to post this.

I was tempted to make another post in that other sighting thread about this.

It's gotten to the point for me where I'd just about say it's common to see them.

Pretty much the same here. Can't walk far without seeing some on people's wrists. I'd say there are as many Apple Watches as there are from the Nixon/Fossil range. I couldn't have said the same before Christmas.

I personally know 6 people with an Apple Watch. Plus the countless people I see in public with them.

In Los Angeles, I have definitely seen a few more on average than usual, but there's still a paucity of watches based on the fervor with which people around here suggest they are being embraced.

And Most I have seen tend to be on younger minimum wage earners, rather than more affluent corporate excutives. I work in a major company of over 5,000 employees worldwide, and some 2500 in LA alone, with whom I come into contact regularly. And it's rare to see one on any of them, young or old, senior executive or assistants. And these are supposedly the movers and shakers and taste makers. In fact a recent massive international event with buyers from all over the world likewise turned up the rare Watch on the wrist.

But that's sort of to be expected. Even if Apple has sold 15 million watches worldwide, that's a drop in the bucket compared to the ~500 million compatible iPhone users who are the sole potential customers. I wouldn't expect to see them at all with that kind of dilution -- unless I were looking for it. And that's really what these anectdotal observations are about, not any kind of objective survey.

Disclaimers about anecdotes apply, but I see them all the time in Chicago. They seem to be particularly popular among professionals aged 25-50. I usually see them worn by people with a decent amount of money (the demographic that might drive BMWs, for example) but not necessarily the uber wealthy. Many AW wearers I've seen are quite stylishly dressed, which may support a conclusion that these are being purchased not just because of the tech, but rather that people are drawn to the combination of tech and style.

Interesting that two media centers like Chicago and LA would experience the watch so differently. Unfortunately ever since I saw this on John Oliver's show, I haven't been able to get it out of my head whenever I see an Watch.

In the Washington DC area they are very common. I mostly see professional women wearing them - men not so much.

Just left the retirement home where my grandmother stays and saw another one.

The aide who was letting me out had on a rose gold with an antique white sport band. First time I've ever seen one of those. Looks cool in-person.

She was a looker too. Should have asked for her number to demonstrate the digital touch feature. :p

Gold star for watching John Oliver.

I see them everywhere around me. Most of the people with them are the soccer mom rich people types. Then I see an increasing amount of old people wearing them, even though I'm sure 96% of them don't have any idea about what it can actually do. Then, I see the silver spooned junior high age kids wearing one but still checking the time on their phones, which I find quite strange. Then, I see the occasional geeky dad wearing one.

There are a ton out there right now though.

What part of the country are you in? In Los Angeles, I almost never see them on these types of people, and mostly see them on low wage, hourly employees.

I'm in Utah, close to a rich city but I don't live there. All the homes in that area pretty much run for $600k or more and so that probably explains why I see so many around town.

I've seen a lot of them in Asia and Los Angeles.
Probably more than 50, fewer than 100.

I've seen about 40-50. All but 2-3 were on men. Same for tv. I've probably seen about the same on tv with about all but one or two being on men.

I just came back from a USA road trip and saw a lot of apple watches in the wild. I didn't count them but I saw a couple every day. But they also advertise it a lot over there. I saw a lot of apple watch billboards in the cities.

Here in the Netherlands I have only seen the apple watch once in the wild. They are not popular here at all.

My fiancée and I just came back from a trip to San Diego, and other than both of us who own AW's, we saw a decent number of people around town with them on (much more than what I see back home in Philly). We drove up to LA one day and didn't see as many (if any at all).

I've only seen 1 man with an Apple Watch here in St. Louis. I know 2 people with them and any others I've seen are women. I was getting my nails done the other day and 2 other women had them. It's funny because we discussed them and we each had different opinions and uses for them. I also noticed an older woman buying the rose gold sport in Best Buy the other day. I was proud of her! LOL

I agree with this. It seems like the people that should be least spending their money on an item like an Apple Watch seem to be the people wearing them most from what I've seen. I'm also in LA. Like 1 of my friends wears an Apple Watch. He likes it. But he's the minority in my friend circle. Sometimes I see young professionals wearing them, but most of the time if I see young professionals they seem to be wearing real 'dumb' watches if any watch at all - most of the time it's no watch. This seems to be especially true at the bars, especially in like downtown LA and Santa Monica.

I wear a 'dumb' watch.

I agree with this also, I mostly see them on men. Women seem to prefer FitBits.
