Maybe. Depends on how much money I have when the new one is launched, and how much my current silver Sport can sell for. I do like the look of the SS but the Sport is nice too.

I like nice watches. I have a Breitling Bentley Motors, and two Rolex Submariners, among a collection of other "nice" watches. On a "nice" watch, I wouldn't buy anything but Stainless (or white gold), and saphire. However, I plan to keep those watches "forever" and pass them down to my kids. The Apple watch is not a timepiece, it's a gadget which will be obsolete in 2 years, and within 4 or 5 years may not be able to even be sync'd with anything. As such, the investment isn't worth it to me unless the difference between the two brought more features.

The glass on the Sport is good enough. I don't scratch my iphone screen, and I have it in my pocket. I expect the glass in the sport to survive bumping against a door jam and typical stuff a watch may come up against. If it doesn't, it's a temporary thing as I'll likely have another one within a year or two anyway, unlike my "real" timepieces.

Lastly, I appreciate the lightness of the Sport, since I work out with it. Unlike any watch I've owned, I literally forget I have it on, which is a good thing.

I have been considering getting rid of my sport for the stainless steel this weekend but I decided against it, I might get the SS when I upgrade to whatever my next AW is (2 or 3..).

I would probably try out the Sport next time, liking the gold option.

That's what I ordered.. while waiting for it to arrive, I did some digging and found the only two wriststrap loop options are grey and silver. Both of which wouldn't look good on gold, so I returned it and ordering the space grey sport instead.

Space grey sport is great, pretty much all band colours match it.

I first had the space gray sport, and I loved it. I did get some nasty scuffs on the screen about 3 months in because I'm a klutz and bumped it into a stone wall. I hadn't planned on replacing it just for scuffing, although it bothered me to no end. Then, one day at the beach, I learned why it's important to keep, the sport stra snug and secure.

Best Buy was doing the watch sale at the time, and discover was doing the Apple Pay promotion, so I got a black stainless this time around. I very pleased with it. The screen does seem more durable. The biggest negative for me, other than buying two similar first gen products months apart, is something that surprised me. The extra weight doesn't bother me at all most of the time. On a run, however, it has a little more noticeable momentum than the aluminum.

Next time around, I'll probably do sapphire again. I've never scratched a phone or iPad - and I started with gen 1 of each - but the watch is too exposed for my clumsy self. I do love the look, feel, and weight of the aluminum casing, more than either of the SS models. Sport with sapphire would be my ideal watch, but then a 32 gigabyte base iPhone or air would have been ideal for me too, but Apple needed the extra cash, and they know they'll get it. :)

I bought a SS about a day after preordering the sport merely on price. But between the matching fancier bands and, more importantly, more rugged materials in the watch, I switched to SS.

I have banged my watch against a million things since getting it. Each time I'm afraid it'll be dented or scratch. Still nothing. If the sport is made similarly to my iPhone, I probably would've killed it three or four times. I'm a geology student and was really worried about using it outdoors and being near objects harder than glass. Thankfully none are harder than sapphire.

I really want to swap my sport model for SS as of recently, trying to hold off until gen 2 though.

I might. My SGS has a number of mini scratches around the edge of the screen, they shine in the light and really disturb the nice harmony between the matte surface and the glass. And this after being ultra careful with the watch since I got it.

Not too keen on the color of the regular SS though, but also not sure if I'd be willing to pay the price of the SB SS.

No: (1) it's heavier. (2) I wear my Sport's Watch all the time (except when it's charging) - In the shower, when I'm working out on the elliptical recumbent, in the pool, at home, when I'm out. When Apple comes out with the ability to sync 2 watches to the iPhone, I'll get the Sport's model - although if the new one is to be announced shortly after that - I'll wait either to buy the current model at the reduced price - or to get the newer one which I'm hoping has more health sensors, and a longer-lived battery (on the 38mm one). I'm obviously an AW fan.

In 9.3 there is the option to sync multiple watches! That will be great for you.

I like the silver sport cause it's not as popular. It's nice to have an AW that is a bit different than the majority of AW users. The SGS is nice though.

That's kind of why I went with the black SS. I've had regular SS watches. Wanted something different.

I did buy the Stainless the first time around and returned it after a week because I just couldn't rationalize the price for the limited functions of the watch. A sports might do for me, but I'm waiting to hear about gen 2 before I plunk down my money again.

I got the 42 Sport Space Grey model as a gift. I like gadgets, so I have been happy with it, but I doubt that I would ever pay the extra money for SS if it continues to have the same internals as the Sport.

Since mine is a month old, I still haven't scratched it. If the screen gets all scratched up, I could change my mind, but otherwise, I will stick with the Sport models. Of course, the SS is known for getting a scratched up body, so there is apparently a trade off.

As a SS user I'm happy with how it looks and feels and looks very premium. I have no plans to upgrade every year so for something that gets two years use maybe 600 is worth it.

Problem is it does have some scratches on it now and even the milanese loop has some scratches but nothing too noticeable.

I have been curious about the Apple Watch and decided to jump on the Sport 38mm model on sale for $250. So far, I really like it. I'll wait till Apple watch 2 comes out to get the SS model.

Thanks. Very helpful to know. Now 2nd question - if you have 2 watches syncing w with your iPhone (when 9.3 comes out) will they both reflect the same information - so let's say your work out on one and stand for 7 hours, and then switch to the other, will it reflect the information so that you're stand goal is 5 hours a way on it too??? I don't own a second watch yet - but as soon as 9.3 comes out - I'l be buying one. Fun to contemplate.

I would expect that, but I only have one Watch also, so I don't know.

There was a brief time where I debated upgrading my sport to the SS. However, I still continue to enjoy my sport and the different bands that I own. If I do upgrade to the AW 2, I will think long and hard before I decide which case to purchase. The SS will be strongly considered, that is for sure.

I definitely will! I bought the Silver Sport with a White Band beginning of January. I love watches but I wasn't sure just how much I would like the AW, so went for the Sport. Especially since I intended to use it for fitness. Since getting it, I feel in love with it. I wear it daily from morning to night. I have a Milanese Loop on the way that I ordered from Apple today. It looks fine with the AWS but I really wish I'd gotten the SS.

I will when the next model rolls around and I really, really hope that current bands will be compatible. Considering how much they cost, it would be...interesting if Apple decides against it.
