I don't see Apple pricing other current products based on colour? What makes you think they will on this one?

A theory saying they MIGHT price them higher. In the SS collection 18 models are shown but only 2 are Space Black (2 of 10 in the Sport). This could be Apple 'presenting' the Space Black (Gray) as 'special' and worthy of a price premium.

This is unlike the iPhone/iPad which presents all colors equally.

I would be a bit surprised if the darker aluminum sport watch is more expensive but I won't be surprised if the darker stainless steel one is as I suspect that one is more expensive to manufacture.

I don't think Apple will present the Space Black as being more expensive, because it's black. They'll do it by making it only possible to buy the the black with a space black link band, which is strongly rumoured to be the most expensive version.

If I get the sport it will either be the silver with white band, or space grey, which sounds odd because they are basically opposite. I really got interested in the space grey after seeing real world photos of it. My I ideal would be the SS with a white sport band and a leather band, but I prolly won't want to spend that much. I'm not liking the loop our link bracelet. I usually don't like metal bands because they complicate the look of the watch.

But if it's more expensive than the SS with link bracelet I don't think it will be just because it's "black". Gruber was implying that, comparing it to the plastic black MacBook that was more expensive than the white version for no other reason than it was black. I think if the space black watch is more expensive than it's SS counterpart it will be because of the DLC coating.

Although I'm a fan of black, I think black/grey looks pretty generic since every other sports watch out there and similar type sports products are in black. I also think the silver may coordinate better with the bands I like. (I'm leaning towards stainless steel but will make my final decision based on the comparisons of the weight)

If my memory serves me correct, I believe Apple released the iPhone 3G 8GB Black ($199), 16GB Black or White ($299). iPod nano 3rd Gen 4GB Silver ($149), variety of colors 8GB ($199). The Black MacBook was prices $100-$150 higher than the White model with the same specs.

Though storage was a factor with these items, Apple has in the past reserved colored options to a high price tag.

I saw some pictures of the sport silver & the steel silver
The sport silver is not glossy more like matte silver so is not shiny

If I was choosing between steel silver & sport silver I would go for the steel silver

But for sport. Space gray looks better

I think I prefer the Space Gray, but I'd be concerned that it would be more easily scratched, which seems to be the case with iPhones.

My problem with space grey is more that ever sports watch out there is usually black. I also want a white band and I think white will go better with silver. But for me, it will mostly come down to how heavy the steel is.

I like the silver SS best, but will only get that if it doesn't cost too much. Next for me would be the silver Alum, - I like the black/grey but I want to be able to buff out scratches occasionally.

I think silver sport goes with more bands. I like the way the space grey sport looks with the black sport band but I see more band options with the silver sport.

I agree. I think I am going for the sport model, this being the 1st generation. Trying to decide between silver and space gray. I like the space gray better but I feel like, from what we have seen, there will not be as many band options....

Have to wait until Monday, I guess.

The apple watch in this video is silver or gray ?

I hope to get the Stainless model however I don't think I'll be able to afford it. If I can't, I'll get the Space Gray Sport 42mm. Really slick looking Watch IMO.

Looking at photos I think the Sport actually looks better then the Stainless so I might get it regardless. I'm just afraid of how easy it'll ding and scratch. I don't think the Space Gray Sport will cost more then the regular Sport.

All the aluminium watches are going to be anodised so you can't buff out scratches without removing the surface finish. If Apple use a Type III Hard Coat it will be fairly tough and scratch resistant

This is really a big issue for me right now. As I'm looking at the Sports space gray, I don't see any other band that matches it, besides the black sports band. The black leather doesn't look right to me with it, and has the shiny chrome part that doesn't match the sports space gray watch. The space black steel band doesn't seem to match to me either, in color, and it's shiny chrome looking steel, next to a matte black color. It doesn't seem like Apple had any other band in mind when it comes to the sports space gray watch.

Speaking of resistance. Do you think Apple Watch Sport is quite resistant to knocks and scratches, including glass, or there is no comparison with the version in steel? There are differences in resistance between silver and space gray Apple Watch Sport? I'm considering Apple Sports Watch Silver with Black Sport Band, but I still want to see him live.

I'm pretty much set for space gray :apple:Watch Sport with the black rubber band.

Can't wait to get my hands on it. Or should I say... Can't wait to get it to my wrist. ;)

If someone asks me which color to get (for sports edition), I would strongly recommend getting the silver version. Space gray iPhones are prone to minor scratches that could reveal the difference in color (no where near as noticeable as the iPhone 5).

The watch will be on your wrist. There will be times that your working on something and forget that you have an expensive watch on your hand (i've done that with my Pebble Steel).
