I have no imagination and no individuality so I just bought an Apple watch.

I have no life besides obsessing with just another product a multinational is expanding to, so... I won't buy an Apple Watch.

Seriously? Can't Apple Haters/Android Holly War Soldiers just get off the Internet?

Guess what, it stinks from a distance.

Which is exactly why, unlike the iPhone, there isn't just one model for everyone.

And going forward, the variety of cases, bands and watchfaces will only increase.

Sorry, you will need to link me to the different models.

So far I've only seen 1 model of apple watch.

2 sizes and 3 case materials, but only the one actual model I have seen.

what different models are on offer and what do they each do?

You need to understand I have nothing Pro or Anti any company unlike most here.

I only look at a individual product. I don't care what brand name/logo something has on the back.

It could have Apple, Google, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft logo on it.
I'm not a fanboi at all.
Most people here are, and they will hate on anything Samsung and Swoon over anything Apple irrespective of the device.

Samsungs Wireless charging is dumb, until apple do wireless charging, Small tablets are dumb, large screen phones like from Samsung are dumb.

It goes on and on and on.

My feelings about the watch have zero to do with it being made by Apple.

The point is, most people do care.
The Apple watch will probably be the easy to spot marker of:

I have no imagination and no individuality so I just bought an Apple watch.

I can see people loving it to begin with, then when they see it everywhere, they will move back away to something more personal to them and less wide mass market.

That'll do Piggie, that'll do.

Not sure what you aren't understanding here.

2 sizes, 3 different case materials, 6 or 7 different watch straps in various colours, god knows how many different faces...

I think you will find in the watch world, a different case material and different strap design counts as a different model.

Sure, the case shape accross the board is the same, but Apple is building a platform here, in the hope to create a watch that is much more capable than any other watch.

No, most DON'T care... at least those I chose to be around don't care...
Ok... I'll "fix" what I said..... Mature adults don't care because they buy what they want.... Immature needy people will care. Better?

Sorry, but you need to accept that virtually everyone does care what others think about them, their appearance and possessions.

It's hard to accept, but the vast majority of normal people do.

If you lived totally alone on an island or the only human left then you would revert to a very low level you were fine about, not shave, not wash so much, scruffy cloths ect ect, in modern society almost everyone will always worry about what others who see them will think.
We all know everyone around us draws inclusions vpbased upon how we look and what we own or where we go.
You don't shave and wash and go into Walmart in you pyjamas, and drive a dirty old filthy car, you may be the nicest human on the planet, but you know how most will look down on you.

Sorry but maybe you need to change the people you hang out with. The people I chose to surround myself with don't care if I have the newest iPhone, watch, iPad what ever. They want to see me and my family not what I have on my body.
As far as turning into a slob if I were alone on an island.... No. I have what some call self respect.

Now I know there is an expectation for those wanting to participate in civilized society to have a bit of self respect and chose to dress appropriate for the situation or present a personal look that is easier for those around us to accept.... that's simply being a respectful human BUT...... to actually worry about what others think about what I'm wearing or have on my wrist isn't the same thing. Now I'm not saying I don't notice what others might have but I in no way judge them because of what they do or don't have.

But yes, there are those in the world that do worry about such things.... those people need to figure out what hole they have in their lives and need to figure out how to fill it. (and getting things to try and impress people isn't going to do it)

Just wanted to put this here where I thought people might in enjoy it! Suzy Menkes, Fashion editor, recently posted a picture of an unknown man wearing the Apple Watch. I think this might be the first time Apple Watch has been spotted out in the wild (aside from press moments with Tim Cook & co.)

My guess is that the man in the picture is Marc Newson. What do you all think?? Regardless, it definitely looks good on! Can't wait to try it on myself :)

This is a very old photo. I remember seeing this photo around on the internet just after the announcing of the apple watch. It was around November-December 2014.

Looks like review units are out. Joshua Tolposky looks to be wearing the stainless steel with link bracelet. My guess is Apple wants reviewers to have lots of time with the device before they lift the embargo on reviews. I wonder if Apple gave reviewers multiple bands to use since they surely want the bands to be part of the reviews?

Yep. It is amazing what some of the trolls are saying about us who want and like the watch for what it is. They put us down for obsessing and wanting the watch and spending so much time here while THEY seem to spend a huge amount of time here putting us down and looking for every tiny thing to knock the watch. I could not believe the long thread saying the crown was implemented wrong because it is not identical to the behavior of a PC MOUSE.

Then it is OMG! The SS version will be a disaster because a fingerprint might show on it. (they show on a Rolex too and it is SO EASY to rub it on your shirt to make it shine)

I personally do not want an Android watch and guess what? I have not only not spent a second on their forums, I have not even tried to find them. I guess bashing things people like IS a way to feel superior. (or is it just that they won't admit they cannot afford $350?)

It's actually much earlier than I was expecting. Maybe potential to lift the media embargo closer to the 10th than the 24th?

I hope so. Also I think that the embargo needs to lift prior to the public having access to the watch. Otherwise all the top tech guys will get scooped by the bloggers who just go to the Apple Store. I'm thinking reviews are out on April 9 at the latest.

To play devil's advocate for a second...

One aspect of being a consumer that you don't seem to acknowledge is that brand allegiance is not necessarily a bad thing. Brands try very hard to build up their reputation and customer loyalty, and a lot of people gain additional pleasure in knowing that a product from a certain company will, hopefully, deliver a certain level of satisfaction or quality that they have come to expect from that company. It gives the consumer an added feeling of reassurance and of course there's also the feeling of being part of a group of like-minded people.

All I'm saying is that to say "I don't care what label is on the product, I only judge it for what it is" is probably not actually true (as everyone is a 'victim' of marketing to some degree), or if it is, to say it thinking that makes you a more enlightened consumer is not actually true either - there's nothing wrong with having brand loyalty if it genuinely delivers you a better experience. Lacking this will mean you lack the emotional attachment to 'things' that can be rewarding, considering how much time you'll have to spend using them.

Obviously, crossing over in to 'fanboy'-dom is another thing entirely and there's a fine line between an acknowledged preference and blind loyalty above all else.

The problem is that anyone who demonstrates any signs of brand loyalty are immediately decried as a 'fanboy', which devalues the whole conversation and hides the true fanboys amongst those who are willing and happy to exercise their right to have a preference.

What I'd give to open this thread and actually just see or read about Apple Watches that have been spotted in the wild.
