I really can't imagine that anyone at the gym is going to care whether the watch is SS, SB, gold, or even fuchsia! :) The SS does have a way or sort of disappearing. It looks smaller than SB, IMO.

Agree. Or get a Nike band!
Yep agreed. I have the platinum/black Nike band, a black sport band, and now the white sport band that came with the s4. All of them look great on silver SS. I also have the original black leather classic buckle for a more formal look, and I’ve ordered the silver/black one I posted earlier in this thread. I think I got it all covered, haha.

Director of Budget in Federal Service here. Among senior level men in my larger organization I see as many sport/fitness/gps watches as I do luxury steel watches. From Justice Gorsuch's Garmin Forerunner to a presidential appointee's Suunto, I don't think it matters, or at least those who are physically active and maybe frugal about their watch collecting don't mine sporting a watch they use in their activities. Get the one you like and wear the Mickie watch face. Avoid a Beavis and Butthead photo face and I think you'll be fine.....

Yeah you raise an interesting point. Culturally, the breadth of the circles we travel in that truly require a certain level of formality of dress have become vanishingly small. I've seen grooms in tuxedos wearing Apple Watches at their wedding, attorneys at white shoe law firms in Apple Watches, playboys and playthings on yachts wearing Apple Watches (in pictures only, I swear!), etc.

I think the idea of the AW or other fitness trackers/smart watches being "too casual" is an idea that's headed to the dustbin if it's not there already.

Really great thread! For me, I have the SB SS with Sport Band but have a 3rd party Milanese Loop and have ordered the Apple Link Bracelet. Managed to get a refurbished one from a reputable seller for £229. Apple charging £449!!

I had the series 0 Silver SS and thought that looked great. Went with the Space Black this time as love the way the screen lends into the stainless steel. Also think that the Silver is more prone to scratches than the Black.

What about also considering your skin tone? I’m not good with colors, but watch guy at a jewlery store said SS works great with most skin tones.

Supposedly, at one time steel bracelets were only for a sporty look. But an Apple Specialist thought the Link with SS gave it a a banker’s look.

I'm not sure about this. I think Sliver and Black look good on any skin tone.

I've mentioned this in multiple posts and bears worth repeating here as some seem to share my observations.

Several weeks back, I attended a corporate conference and saw many very well dressed people including SVP level executives and others with highly successful careers wearing Apple watch in aluminum with & without sport bands and of course there were also those with Stainless. There were plenty of others with Garmin and other sorts of smart watches as well. It's totally a stigma and there's just no need to obsess with about it, everybody else with an Apple Watch knows you have an Apple Watch. Get a band that feels comfortable to you, looks the way you want it to and enjoy it! Everything is fair game when it comes to Apple Watch.
