The design has grown on me since the keynote last night. My first reaction was 'meh', but to be honest I'm liking the sports version with the sports straps more and more.

I hate heavy watches, I have a stainless steel Tissot that I never wear because it's so damn heavy, but since the sports version is made of aluminium it should be a lot more comfortable to wear.

A black sports watch with a white strap is starting to sound quite nice :D

I feel the SAME!!! Except I like the normal apple watch

I feel just about exactly the opposite. I feel that the Watch does offer quite a bit in terms of features, and I like that the design is small and can be dressed down to look somewhat anonymous. I also have an Omega Seamaster (Aqua Terra,) and I'm going to sell it. I'm over wearing watches for status. I'd rather have something that sends info from my phone to my wrist, since I'm constantly dealing with calls, texts and emails for the business that I own.

I wouldn't admit that on watchuseek lol, you're selling a Seamaster for an iwatch? You must be able to buy a couple for the price of the Omega!

I like high end watches but not for status, it's about enjoying the craftsmanship for personal enjoyment for me, sod what others think! :)

To be honest, I'm selling the Seamaster even if I don't buy the Apple Watch. I like the craftsmanship, too, but, despite owning several automatic watches over the last several years, from Rolex, to Omega, to Seiko, I'd be kidding myself if I said that mid to high end swiss autos are anything buy Veblen goods. That's how Rolex has survived. They're not in the watch business. They're in the jewelry business.

i think it's ugly. something i didn't expect from apple. i really hope it didn't take 3 yrs to design the look of the watch. looks like they took a ip6 case and shrank it down to a watch size.

I don't see the physical appeal of the watch, nor do I like it's dependence on the iPhone for functionality, and finally the price is near highway robbery STARTING at $349? I own many Apple products, but the Apple Watch definitely won't be one of them. Thoroughly disappointed in what Apple had to offer us, if it came in a bracelet form factor I'd be much more interested.

Designing a wearable that everyone will think is beautiful is impossible, just as people disagree on any other piece of attire, including wristwatches. One man's Hummer is another man's Mini Cooper. The only option Apple had was to design something that they like, and at least they managed size, color and strap options. If you like it, great. If not, no problem.

I personally think that the Apple Watch design is ok. It's nothing to brag about, but I rather like that. It's just a seemingly well built little box with a screen and some band options. I may just get the smallest one in black with a black band. Unobtrusive and simple.

This iWatch is just as ugly as the square Android watches. WTF Apple? I miss Steve.

It's a matter of personal taste. Sometimes when I read comments like this I wonder if there is something wrong with peoples eyes. But yeah, like I said, personal taste. IMO it is a beautiful design.

Agreed. Plus, I haven't seen a hands on review that doesn't say the Apple Watch looks and feels great compared to any other smart watch. This looks like the kind of thing that needs to be used in person, similar to those that doubted iPads before using one (including myself.)

1970's Pulsar.

Yuck. It looks like something from Texas Instruments in the 80's. Or a 70's Pulsar. With bands a Swatch-wearing tween would appreciate.

I actually thought this guess was gonna be closer to the mark:

A wristwatch is actually a design wonder; a replacement for bigger clocks and more recently the pocketwatch, and hard to improve upon for it's intended use, and for bling if you're into that.

This all-in-one remote control for an iPhone is more like the Zune than the iPod. It reminds me of Palm's ill fated smart watch. I thought if anyone could come up with NEW wearable tech it would be Apple. Instead they accessorize a phone. Sheesh.

You have to see the Apple Watch on a wrist, by itself basically every watch looks kind of weird. You really think it looks as bad as a galaxy gear?

I agree. The Moto 360 looks bad on the wrist compared to the render judging from the actual photos. The Apple Watch, on the other hand, looks better.

Yup. Never knew why people are so excited about moto 360. It just looks bland...

its nice that its round but besides that it looks really crummy.

Yeah, the 'real life' pictures of it are horrible. Whereas the renders of the Apple watch aren't the greatest but on the wrist it looks pretty good.

One thing I think Apple nailed was the bands and how they seamlessly attach to the watch face. I don't like the way the leather strap attaches to the the Moto Almost 360. Makes the watch face look even thicker and bigger than it is.

We've been seduced by all these cool artist impression guesses ... But they were just pictures, they didn't have to make those designs actually work.
