So Series 10 gets new display tech, new chip, new water sensors etc. and the year old Ultra 2 just gets a band and a color ?!
I'm temped to trade in my Ultra 1 for this, but I should probably hold out next year for the Ultra _. Wait what is it going to be called next year?

Looks like I made a good buy from Amazon today on the regular Ultra 2. $110 off and still get the "latest" tech... Made it easier to swallow the cost of the Nomad Rocky Point band to go with it.

What happened with blood oxygen, is that not something introduced since series 4?
I went away due to a patent lawsuit. The Ultra 2 does not include it. No Apple Watch for sale includes it. The only way you have it is if you already owned a watch with it which they did not deactivate. So, if you go with an Ultra 2, no Blood Oxygen but you do get sleep apnea detection in the future. Something the Ultra 1 will not get it seems.

Does this definitively mean that there will be no Ultra3 for another year? Apple would not have given cosmetic updates to the Ultra2 if a full replacement was coming soon, right?

No new display
No upgraded Chip
No price reduction -it’s older tech now
No redesign
Only new feature is software
UW2 Now Avaliable in black
Oh no hold on a new watch strap

For the top of the line Apple Watch to not be upgraded other than a bloody colour, I think they are looking at this having an absolute laugh. Innovation, only when they really feel like it it seems. Ah well, more to spend on something else instead.

Battery life isn’t enough to get me to buy the Ultra. I have an extra charger cable in my car, and I have a portable travel charger for my Series 7. Rare that I can’t take off the watch for a recharge or at least top off. Only time it becomes an issue is during a marathon when I have Runkeeper and a music app both running. if I was a faster runner, it wouldn’t even be an issue then, either, LOL!

If the AW U2 Titanium is the same watch, why do I have to pre-order it like the new black one? Why isn’t it available for same day pickup in store?

Yeah hope Ultra 3 is ready next year with smaller bezels, better battery and the chip bump. Not asking anything else.

Milanese band looks nice, I always hated them because the magnetic clasp would loosen. Not a big fan of bulky metal bands, but the milanese looks very svelte. Shame no UW3, guess I'm keeping my UW1 another year.
I don’t understand how svelte band would fit with a big chunky watch. I’d want a band as thick as possible to offset the size of this thing.

Surprised that there is no Ultra 3 this year. But nice to see a new colour and Titanium Milanese loop

yeah, next year Ultra 3 will have even better specs, and next watch11 will be as ultra today, most likely?

Battery Life my become an issue in 2-3 years, when the max. capacity is down to 80% and below. I have an AW7 with cellular, that still does what I need, but the battery is down to 80%, and it barely lasts a day, even without workouts. So the Ultra 2, that has double the runtime of the 10 will still be good in 2-3 years in terms of battery life.

For me the big chunky metal bands just look cheesy, but of course just based on my own personal opinion. This is coming from someone who wore "regular" watches with chunky metal bands for years. I usually just go with a standard rubber band.

I know exactly what you mean, my Fenix 7 is 2 1/2 years old and I only get about a month on a charge now

Of course, that means it only has about 30 cycles on the battery so maybe it was always about a month 😂

Ordered the new titanium loop for my current Ultra 2. Ship date is 4-5 weeks unfortunately.
I love the new titanium Milanese loop and ordered it for my current Ultra 1. I've been wearing a regular Milanese loop with the Ultra and really like the look.

By not updating the Ultra, Apple saved me some money. Hopefully next fall there will be a real Ultra 3 and the watch band connection won't change.

I ordered my titanium loop after the keynote and have a shipping date of Oct 9 - 16. I wonder if anyone got an earlier date?

apple likely waiting for better health sensors to add to next years ultra. guess what they wanted wasn't ready.

They could have at least added a flashlight, it's the most popular feature on Fenix. I can't imagine many are waiting for even more health stats to look at while sitting on the couch eating pizza

I'm not upset at all that the Ultra 2 didn't get a spec bump. My Ultra 2 is very capable as is and I won't have to be tempted to upgrade for at least another year. Plus, the screen is still better on the Ultra 2 than the S10, so is the battery and depth gauge, and I snagged one of the last Ultra 2s with the blood oxygen sensor enabled (not that I use it). The new titanium Milanese loop looks pretty nice, especially with that cool clasp. I'm planning to order for pickup at one of the local Apple stores.
