Apple Watch Ultra Band Back Log Is Crazy

I cant believe a month in we are seeing such huge delays on ordering bands for the Ultra. I bought my Ultra with the White Ocean Band but I have read great reviews on the Trail Loop, so yesterday I ordered the Yellow/Beige band. Will not deliver till 11/2-/11/9.

That is crazy bands are still so hard to come by :(

This is typical Apple marketing. They know the new band styles will be in demand. I have no doubt there isn't a warehouse full of them. Place a small amount packaged with the ultras. People see it and they either buy the ultra or wait. Then, just before Christmas, after they have piqued many peoples interest, release them and let the shopping frenzy begin.

Had an original order for ocean bad with Apple. That had a delivery date for November. Decided to go with trail loop via AT&T. I never order anything thru my carrier BTW. Anyways ordered online October 8. Delivered October 13. Cancelled Apple order.

Creating artificial shortage like that is risky. People might lose interest if they have to wait too long to get the product. If that happens, the company is left with warehouse full of inventory they can't sell. I think it's more likely Apple just underestimated the demand.

Has that ever happened with an apple product. Not to mention, band color as such are seasonal.
Throw these are completely new styles and the Christmas season, I don’t think apple will have an issue moving them, just a hunch

Exactly. Apple is fine. I don't think its artificial shortages. I believe companies being cautious of how much stuff to make. Also lets not forget we aren't back at full workforce. In my industry I'm still experiencing heavy shortages. I got stuff that wont arrive to my warehouse till next year. We talking orders I placed weeks ago.

I suspect it has something to do with the supply chain. Could be the lugs are lagging from china.

It is the world we live in now.

Couple weeks isn't that crazy :D

I ordered a black/gray one (M/L) a couple weeks ago and est delivery is Dec 1-8

Although if I place an order now it moves up to Nov 18-24

So it is getting better.

I guess I should cancel and re-order....I wonder if mine will get bumped up?

I don’t think there is a conspiracy here. Companies want to shift stock and make money as fast as possible. There will be a reason for the delay. Many things are delayed in many industries at the moment. I ordered a new lens in January. The day it was announced for pre-order (with a March release date). It’s only finally being delivered next week!

Id say leave it, Im sure your would get bumped up if the new dates are earlier.

I was in the same boat. Cancelled the earlier order and re-ordered and got the faster delivery date (Nov. 18-24). I guess my earlier order would have moved up as supply constraints eased, but who knows?

I had issues ordering mine through Verizon kept coming up with the White Ocean band. Canceled twice and finally got someone with inside sales and he got me hooked up. But every time reordered date shipping went from 12/9 to 12/14 to 12/21. Because of the band I ordered (Midnight Ocean). Well guess what, just got notification that it shipped today! Whoop! 2 mos early! Score!

That’s actually a good idea. I didn’t think of that. I just cancelled my original preorder and reordered with earlier shipping dates. I was in the Apple Store just now and asked them to check stock as I’ve heard of some people getting lucky but they didn’t have any. I guess I’ll just have to wait for my preorder to ship between November 5th and 12th unless it gets bumped up. I like the blue/grey Trail Loop I have now but I prefer the black/grey one.

With just over two weeks to go, I am surprised that you haven’t seen some movement

I had cancelled my original order which was showing delivery for later on in November ( I can’t remember the exact dates ) when this came up for November 5th to 12th delivery including free Saturday delivery and reordered. This order hasn’t had any movement but it is still earlier than my original order.
 
What ticks me off is that Apple is selling watches with the trail loops and I can‘t get one I ordered the day to Ultra came out. WTH Apple.

Cancelling the Trail Loop today.

Well I cancelled the Dec 1-8 order for a Nov 9-16

I'll check again for an earlier date later this week, but this might be as good as it gets.
