the series 7/8 the ultra is tiny bigger but you dont notice side by side, but the corners are more round so its smaller at the top so cuts text

That doesn‘t even make sense.

It doesn’t matter how you try and dress it up. The Ultra is the largest Apple Watch display.

Just checked on my Ultra, I do not even get a last name when I go into iMessage. Lol

Edit: Ah, I have Short Name enabled in my contacts. Explains why.

This ultra watch appears to have been designed and marketed at a specific demographic of people. Are you of this demographic? because maybe, just maybe the issue you raise was never designed to be how you would like it to be and thus might not be important to the demogrpahic of people it's being marketed to.
the demographic this watch is aimed at cannot even respond to texts on their watches. As a garmin user trying out the Ultra I would have never noticed. However yes if this is a flaw I did not hear one YTer say a word about it.

It's 8pm here, and my watch is still at 71%. I'll deal with the rounded edges for battery life like that.

I don't see why some are piling on OP. It as if people take it as a personal insult if someone identifies something negative, or at least not as expected, with the new watch, and are outraged. We aren't trying to win a contest here.

I think it is useful information that potential purchasers might like to be aware of. Whether they do anything with the information, think it trivial or a deal breaker, is totally up to them. I personally find it no big deal.

I say thanks to OP for showing this.

I agree the YouTubers let us down on this one.

I'm finding them to be pretty unreliable. I returned my Mac Studio earlier this year because nobody mentioned it sounded like a jet engine while taxiing.

I’m all for personal expression based on fact. I take issue with the OP materially deviating from facts. Express opinions, for sure, but they don’t override factual data. Reality is still reality.

Yes he was wrong to say the Ultra is smaller, but still fact that the name can be truncated in some circumstances. As I said in another post I think Apple will fix this.

it is crazy how unreliable they truly are these days. It seems as if every product they review they take the middle ground no matter what unless there isn't a competitor to the product then they either love it or like it alot. I guess to keep getting the good stuff early to review and keep getting views you cannot say one of the big name products is ....... not good

I do however think the ultra is OK so far. Haven't ran with it but used it next to my garmin during sleep and they had very very similar numbers.
