Any other case colors? Would love a darker model. Might have to wait until next year

hahah I love how hard they tried to sell this watch to hikers.

iF YOU EVER HIKED you know how crucial battery life is and 6o hours is literal ****.

2 weeks + on battery GARMIN reigns supreme
Ya this battery life isn't enough for adventures that could be life threatening if you run out of battery and lose a portable charger.

This things looks monstrous 🥸 I was surprised about the price since it’s the old stainless steel pricing but now I’m wondering the overall weight, this is one of those watches I need to feel and see it on wrist 😭

Need to learn more about the bands; need something that doesn’t absorb grease and/or blood

Pricing sucks, the standard should have been dropped by $100. But the trade in will likely off set the impact.

My God they just turned the dive industry on its head. They didn't mention a free dive mode, but I assume they would add one if its not there.

My dive computer alone cost $1500. Of course this is with a tank sensor which ups the price about $350. ScubaPro, Garmin, and Oceanic executives have to be stunned at the $799 price for an everyday wear dive computer that feature wise, especially with cellular connectivity, decimates any product they offer.

If Apple wants to rule the recreational dive waters, they could develop or license a tank sensor to integrate air consumption.

Looks amazing, wasn’t planning on getting one but the dive watch feature and lower than expected price has convinced me :)
Same, I was prepared to say "meh" and move on. I was not expecting a dive computer. At this price, it competes with other dive watches in the segment. I have been eyeing a Shearwater Teric, but it's so chonky I wouldn't wear it day to day. I'm interested to see how chonky the Apple Watch Ultra is compared to the regular watches. It won't matter though because it brings a massive ecosystem and apps to the frankly disjointed and crappy UX dive watch market (and athletic watches in general).

Which model? I'm shopping for a watch and have waited to see what today's event brought to compare to existing devices.

So it's unheard of to bring a backup battery or solar charger on a hike?

Not sure why you're quoting me, but I'll give it a shot. Hikers tend to be concerned a lot about weight. Little things add up.
