I like the product. An Apple Watch that is the closest form of a mini computer than any other versions, by default. I might be tempted.

The name seems odd. Why ultra instead of pro.
Probably because it took recreational activities to a much higher level and calling it Apple Watch Extreme would sound like you can beat the snot out of the watch. Ultra is another word for extreme and Apple gave this watch extreme capabilities compared to other Apple Watch models.

My order says delivery October 20-27 not September 23. Have the shipping dates already slipped that far?!

Can't wait.

I think I'm going to hold off still. I like the idea, but am curious about size, weight, and overall functionality with my hobbies.

And 60 hours is in the low power mode, not when you are using GPS etc. I bet it gets 12-14 hours since they say “most” can complete an Ironman with it. Beats the 5-7 hours realistically with the normal Apple Watch though.
They said 36 hours in normal mode. Also, I completed a 50 miler last Saturday in 12 hours 40 mins and my series 3 just managed to track the whole run. So 5-7 hours is not the limit of current watches.

You're right, it's no Garmin, but in a lot of areas a Garmin is no Apple watch.

Looks like the trail loop bands are all shipping a month later? The alpine and ocean bands ship September 23. Wonder if I should just cancel the trail and replace it with the alpine until I can get a separate tail band. The bands are interchangeable I presume.
