How many times have you broken your watches over the years?I bought monthly AC when I got the Ultra. I plan on using it for many years. Want to be protected for that entire run.

It is.. I said earlier that I actually think Ultra is a much better deal compared to previous Editions which cost almost the same as Ultra, yet brought nothing but nicer exterior. An Apple watch and dive computer for that money? It’s actually a great deal.
I’ve scratched every AW I’ve owned. I’d rather have peace of mind while owning this watch for the next 3 years or longer potentially. How many times have you broken your watches over the years?
I also have concerns about protruded Titanium body surrounding the wheel. That may look tough, but potentially could accumulate gunks and dirts over time that may get in the way of operating the Watch.Given that this is dubbed as the "more rugged" Apple Watch, I'm challenged to think what you'd need to do to this thing in order to need repairs. My Stainless AW feels nearly indestructible and this thing looks even tougher.
Granite walls can slice like little razors. Rock climbing - with the routine need to stick one's wrist into a crack in a granite wall - would certainly seem to be overly abusive for any watch. I subjected a Seiko dive watch to every other activity, but always took it off before high-angle climbing.Apple will not provide Hardware Services or ADH Services in the following circumstances: (a) To protect against normal wear and tear, or to repair cosmetic damage not affecting the functionality of the Covered Equipment; (b) To conduct preventative maintenance; (c) To replace Covered Equipment that is lost or stolen; (d) To repair damage caused by reckless, abusive, willful or intentional conduct, or any use of the Covered Equipment in a manner not normal or intended by Apple;
So is rock climbing covered or not? Cause it's not at all good for the regular Apple Watch.
Too bad I did not get your sage wisdom sooner. I already ordered an Ultra...no. it is best to not buy this apple BS.
Apple Watches (which I love) are a consumable. They do not last much more than 5 years, same as smart phones, and Airpods. I’m surprised there is no Apple+ max subscription or lease plan that provides you with the whole shebang for $100-200 per month. Because that’s what it amounts to if you calculate the total cost of ownership…I have a friend who collects watches.... Average price over $7,000. This watch is dirt cheap for everything it does.
Yeah, as if that thing didn't already have a $650 margin. The mere existence of Apple Care instead of the company offering a 10 year warranty on any product out of pride for their longevity goes a long way. I wouldn't mind if they actually still innovated. Unfortunately, since the original iPhone they've only copied themselves and others. iPad is a large iPhone and AW a small one.Another move by Apple that flies in the face of its claimed sustainability credentials by potentially rendering lightly damaged devices not worth the cost of repair, when in reality a $50 fix could be sufficient to keep the watch going for many more years. Or, you buy Apple Care and you pay to uphold Apple's commitment to the environment.
They usually flaunt it in front of others, pretending to check their hair or whatever that needs to do with raising the wrist. The same with any latest phone: pretending to be on the phone just to tell the whole world they have a brand spanking newest, latest and greatest. Lately, my country has been evolving backwards.
I know, I should just ignore them. But you know, it's like 7 out of 10 people in public do this kind of atrocious thing and suddenly it's too hard to ignore and become an eyesore.
Haha, that reminds me of the times when cellphones became a thing. Corrected for inflation cellphone were more expensive than the most expensive iPhones today, and some people wanted to show off. The problem was that nobody was calling them, as calling a cellphone was VERY expensive - like more than $1 per minute. Gladly for those pricks there were services that offered to call them at the right time. So if they wanted to impress a friend or coworker (or a woman) they ordered a call just at the perfect time. Then the cellphone rang and they could feel important. If they buy that and not behaving pretentiously, I don't have any problems whatsoever. But lately, my country has seemingly evolving backwards. Lots of people buying latest gadgets and flaunt them.
Just come here to Jakarta and see those pretentious who always look like they're on the call with their Fold or Flip or Pro Max, but in fact they're not having any calls, they just want to flaunt it in front of all people. Same with all those Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch users here: pretends tidying up their hair every so often just to show the world they have the "it" gadgets.
It's becoming more and more common it became such a very irritating eyesore not for me, but also for anyone.
That’s a good one! But really, if one owns Apple shares, he/she could’ve easily afford any Apple products at any cost. No harm in helping your share afloat by contributing to sales. There was a meme saying "The poor man owns an iPhone, the rich man owns Apple shares".
These are watches for rich people, who won't notice or care how much repairs cost.
Scratching it does not prevent functionality. I like my rugged gear to be filled with scratches! It means I put it to good use. Every single little scratch will have a story to tell. New untouched shiny polished watches are so boring!I’ve scratched every AW I’ve owned. I’d rather have peace of mind while owning this watch for the next 3 years or longer potentially.
repairing this watch cost nowhere close to $500. they're just trying to force you into buying their insuranceToo bad I did not get your sage wisdom sooner. I already ordered an Ultra...

My wrists aren't big enough for this watch. It'd look ridiculous.
But of course his $7000 watches last much longer than this Ultra crap, don’t they? Years later those watches could be a rare collectibles at which they yield excellent returns.
Sure $799 sounds cheap for those collectors, but AW really is a disposable purchase with short lifespan.
