Love my Ultra. I have small wrists, but it somehow still looks fine. Not awkward at all for me. I find that it appears more stylish than my Watch 7. Starlight Alpine band is very nice too. Look forward to using it on ski and alpine treks soon!

Mine arrived earlier today. It was easy to setup/transfer my settings and cell plan from my S6. Even the black steel link band I’ve had since the S0 looks better than expected with the Ultra. Weight and size are good. I’m looking forward to the longer battery life, too. So far, I’m pleased with the purchase.

For the price you're paying Apple should provide LTS options for the high-end watch, They might sell more if they said they will provide software support for the next 10 years or say that the logic board can be upgraded to the next generation, something to assure people that you're not buying an $800 watch just for five years.
Again, what is this any different than the people who buy/bought any of the previous series in Stainless Steel or......ceramic.....those were always in the 7-8 hundred dollar range. I had the Stainless when I upgraded from the 3 to the 4.

I live in the bay area. No chance of me walking into an Apple Store and getting one of these on Day 1. Looks pretty nice though.

I was quite relieved that, as I expected, it looks MUCH better in person than in any photos I have seen.

On the wrist, you don't notice any difference in mass compared to a stainless 45 Apple Watch.

The screen is WAY brighter than my AW7 and it does appear a bit larger as well, somewhat to my surprise.

The Digital Crown is a triumph of ergonomics. It does take a bit to get used to the opposite action button, but after a few minutes it becomes second nature.

The orange button color is more subdued than expected. Similarly, the green Alpine band on mine is a lighter color in-person than in photos. It's also surprisingly comfortable, and quicker to don/doff than expected.

The old stainless Apple link band happens to look amazing on this watch body- the fit is perfect. It is coming out of retirement for this watch, having been laid aside for a succession of DLC black steel Apple watches for the past few cycles.

Overall, again, the watch looks a LOT better in real life than in photos. Quite surprisingly so.

Early to talk about durability, but, gave mine a pretty good whack when I released my seatbelt and had the steel seatbelt buckle slam right into the bezel edge. Not a mark, so that was both surprising and pleasing- I dinged my AW5 stainless the exact same way a few years ago. But, sooner or later, it will get beat up, like any watch that doesn't have a DLC coating. My AW7 doesn't have a mark on it after a year.

I won't be the least bit surprised to see an even tougher DLC finish available in the next couple of years.

Final line- no buyer's remorse here, unlike a few posters - or sour grape nibblers- on various threads here. 😂

the 2000 nits is no joke I had to look at it in a few different angles today even directly pointed at the sun and it still looked good.

I’m glad it’s available for those who are ok with the size and weight, but it sucks that it came at the expense of the Apple Watch Edition, which was available in normal sizes.
It may have come down to production capability — having more models could have caused more delays. So maybe the Edition models will return in later years.

I'm loving it BUT it sits weird on my wrist, as others have said, and the hook band is a bit strange, I gotta really hike it up to a notch to prevent the bunching up but then it's a bit tight. Also, and yes it is the point, but it certainly isn't coming off easily or quickly for a casual charge.
The good thing is that you can use other bands with it. I liked the trail band the most, but I like my sport bands and Milanese loop as well.

This has to be one of the most meh new releases apple has ever done from a redesign perspective. I think it’s absolutely hideous. Some apple fans will buy anything. The posts of this thing on small wrists are pretty cringe.

This. I have a series 5 and series 7 titanium watch editions and was hoping apple kept releasing them going forward. I’m honestly ok with the size of the ultra, I just don’t like the boxier appearance and the big area around the crown/button. That might change when I see in person.
I had the S5 titanium edition.

The AWU is just like a bigger, chunkier, better looking version of it. IMO but very happy with purchase.

Some people don’t like the appearance *shrug* Don’t buy it then :)

I’ll happily keep using my awesome looking AWU and enjoying the battery life!

Hahaha at 4:40 the “reviewer” (seller) compares the ultra vs the 8 and for a second realizes how ugly the ultra is. Bulkier, bigger, fatter 1000€ watch. No thanks.

Really like the size and the battery size on this watch. Wish it was do-able for me, but there is just no way I can stomach those orange accents.

Hopefully they do a different color option down the road.
As a fellow DAWG fan, I thought the same thing. I ordered a case on Amazon to hide the God-awful orange.

I think it looks better than many a Garmin watch, and people evidently have no issues with wearing those in public. :)

Picked one up today at my local Apple store. Saw a couple available this morning before it sold out.

I've also been waiting for a watch like this in size. I love that it's big(ger) and clunky. I was surprised actually it's not big enough and I don't have big hands or wrists.

I'm glad it's boxy and not tapered off like other watches. This is definitely not a watch for everyone and that's a good thing that there's finally variety in an Apple Watch versus just sizing.
