Bingo, and the Open beta, this was not an issue that just showed up last minute, there are multiple threads about this. So they clearly had some awareness now how widespread no I bet they sure did not. I suspect they are all over this, however how fast they can find trap trace and kill the bug, well who knows, I would hope it would make todays or Thursdays window for urgent releases, this is a pretty nasty error and murdering batteries all over

oh here we go. Now all the bug reports are coming out as Apple have pushed a yearly new software update instead of focusing on software quality!

My Apple Watch 8 on 10.0.1 is affected, too. For the time being, the easiest fix is instead of using Current Location, I add my current city to the list of weather locations and use that instead of Current Location. Until 10.0.2 comes along (and probably breaks something else along the way *smh*)

Been posting about this since watch 10 beta launced. Someone on reddit finally found a fix for me.
You have to do this
Settings > display & brightness > always on > complications data > turn all on.

For some reason watch os 10 turn display complications data off for me.

Working normal now.
Glad that worked for you, but no good for us that don't want the display always on.

This has been an issue since the second beta. I don’t have much faith in Apple fixing it anytime soon.

And it's not like this is some hidden feature that no one uses. Surely someone at Apple also uses a watch and noticed the things ain't working.

I don’t think anyone at Apple actually uses the Apple Watch based on the Weather app redesign. Shifting the user experience from scrolling or swiping to see all various data elements to having to tap and see each one individually is a nightmare.

Yes, this has been driving me mad for the last couple of days on my Ultra 1st gen. I thought it was something to do with location services but have turned on, off, done the reset power off holding both buttons on watch and iPhone to no avail.

Updating to the latest os has helped a little.

Mine also always seems to default to London and not current location too.

I've been experiencing this issue for about 2 weeks now. My current UV Index & Current Temperature complications on Apple Watch Ultra 1 no longer work.

I am on the beta of Watch OS 10, going to upgrade to the public release and see if it helps

Easy fix for me. I've had this happen before and the solution was posted in an Apple forum years ago.

go into your phone - disable Location Services completely.

immediately enable Location Services.

within seconds the weather complications will work, and will work forever.

(I just seem to need to do this every time there is a new yearly WatchOS major update)
This seems to have worked for me as well. Been working since this morning after I did that.

I have also noticed that some faces I use no longer respect my Military time setting. So only 1 to 12 AM/PM. Dam annoying

You could try flipping it on and then back off and see if that makes a difference. It might just be the resetting of that switch that triggers something.
My weather was actually showing up on the home screen, and I went and changed that setting without thinking about what it was actually doing. After toggling it back off, it is now broke and I'm back to the -- displaying 🤣

I’ve tried just about all of these workarounds and no luck. Guess I’ll wait for a proper fix. Ultra 2.

I just turned off all location settings on my Phone, waited a minute and then re-enabled it.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > toggle “Location Services” off and on.

Weather complication has been working on my watch for about 20 hours now without a hitch. Used to break every hour or so.

This fixed it for me also.

You sir are a genius! Worked for me since yesterday, thank you!

I just turned location services off and backed out of the screen, waited a minute and then reenabled location services.

Something I noticed, in the watch app on iPhone it has been showing current location for default city, that stayed the same. On the watch in weather settings, it was always checking my first location in weather, there wasn’t an option for current location. After turning location settings off and then back on, current location is now checked and an optiin the weather settings on the watch. Complications are working and will have to see if it sticks.

Not sure if this is the case or not, but I did not have this issue at all through out the beta run, it started after having to restore my watch and phone because I received a replacement 13PM. I wonder if it is only happening to people that have had to restore or setup new on iOS 17 and those that upgrade are not affected.

Not sure if this has been posted already but Apple(spoke to apple support) has acknowledged this issue and provided a workaround until the issue is fixed with a software update.

Here is the link they have provided

But it was happening throughout the betas

Why don't they fix these issues before release. Mind boggling. Weather is probably one the most used apps/complications on the phone/watch.

Thanks!! This worked for me.
I tried this and although it currently shows the time, not all of the cities I have loaded in my Weather app are present. In addition Cupertino and New York are on my watch and not on my Weather App.
