If Android Wear does come to iOS, Apple is going to lose a lot of sales. I mean, you can literally get a Moto 360 for $70 at Best Buy with the $100 off deal. Or go with Google and buy direct for $165. When people see the cost of Apple Watch vs something like the 360, with little additional benefit gain, the Apple Watch is going to lose out. People on here can deny it, but the cost of an electronic accessory, like a watch, will be a prime determining factor in actual purchases.

And I think that's a great thing!! Bring on the competitors! If Android Wear really does come to iOS, it would be OFFICIAL competition too! It could potentially force Apple to lower the price, or include even more features, or both!

If Android Wear does come to iOS Apple would not lose many sales to the like of Moto 360 or Huawei. It will lose to fashion brand names that will do watches and Swiss watch makers.

Hmm this picture makes the screen a little washed out. I knew it's too good to be true :(

The website makes it really look like a mechanical watch face. Urgh

Angle of the watch face to the camera is likely washing out the watchface somewhat too. Look at the Apple watch face in comparison. Same thing.

Yes, that would be awesome, for everyone. Couldn't agree more.

Nope, too bulky and the metal looks cheap, IMHO. Advertisement makes it look good on paper whereas actual Apple Watch looks better in person than in paper. Ironic

Apple wouldn't lose sales to those that want an Apple Watch and have the cash on hand to buy what they want. Same with any $500+ watch. Where Apple will loose sales is to the average joe (as I said above) that bases their decision primarily on cost (which is a lot of people mind you!) Even if that is 100,000 sales lost, that is a lot in the smartwatch arena!

P.S. I'm not one of those lost sales. I never had any intention of buying an Apple Watch. I'm waiting for the space to get even more entries in Q2-Q4 of this year (which thanks to Apple is happening and should give us a lot to look at come WWDC and Google I/O in the coming months.)

Apple can compete with Xiaomi in China just fine even though the latter ate Samsung lunch with super cheap phones. They certainly can compete with the like Huawei. The danger will comes when brand names like Issey Miyake or Tag Heuer (or Guess for young female) can come with smartwatches that works good enough for iPhone.
Nobody cares about Moto360 or Huawei watch or smartwatch in general until Apple comes, so no normal people will not care for it. They will care if it's brand name they love. Remember this board will never be a representative of the market as a whole.

Never is a strong word. I think people used to say in early 2007 that Apple would never make it in the smartphone arena. people would 'never' buy a phone without a physical keyboard.
And saying 'nobody cares' about the Moto360 or Huawei watch... You do know that China has a population greater than North America, Europe and Oceana combined? That's a lot of 'nobody's. Even still, Motorola is a name brand in North America. Huawei not at all, but who knows in 5 years??? Never say never!

(Your reasoning that I bolded is so entirely missing the point (and borderline on rambling).

It's so perplexing that to this day people still don't understand Apple market. To say that cheap products is a threat to them.. how many analysts had been proved wrong for the forecast that "Apple needed cheap phone to compete"? Your argument is no different.
Please thinking about it for a second.

Outside of a few countries (US, Japan, UK), Apple does not compete in terms of buyers aka marketshare. Apple has one product of which about 60% of its profits come from and that is the iPhone. Literally, the iPhone is Apple. It is perplexing that to this day people don't realize this. Trying to put the Apple Watch (or any other Apple product for that matter) in the same sort of category as the iphone is an exercise in futility.

You see, except for the iPhone, cheap products from other companies outsell Apple in every category (and even there, the iPhone has seen a sharp decline in marketshare around the globe over the last 3 months, except in China where it gained 1%.) Dell, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV, Samsung all outsell Apple with cheaper products in their respective categories. The iPad, iPod (dead category really) and Apple TV are all being crushed by cheaper products. The Mac has never really gotten out of the niche category even though it is arguably the best laptops.

(In other words, Apple will be doomed. Lol)

Oh.. Market share. Apple was never bigger than it is now and you're talking about useless market share. I do wonder though.. why the like of you will never talk about other things else.. like profit share? Because it doesn't fit your narrow point of view perhaps?
Look at this graph and tell me how exactly this market share of yours had threatened Apple.

I thought you're more intelligent than this but clearly I thought wrong. Bye.

Apparently, you didn't read or comprehend anything I wrote. I talked both profit and marketshare. It's fine. No need to reply. Your inability to see anything past that rose colored hue is obvious. Ciao.

OK I bite. Where did you talk about profit share below? Please point it out.

it's a pretty nice looking watch that's clearly taken lots of design cues from IWC watches (portuguese and the pilot watches perhaps).
the 42mm size is also a nice touch compared to the moto360 (45mm which is entirely inappropriate as the only size for a watch especially given that it has a thin bezel).
but I doubt that it will be good for viewing information because it is round.

Damn, the people Huawei use for their ads are way too pretty. I felt so jealous of the lifestyle they were portraying hahaha.

None of these faux traditional watches look as good in real life as they do in renders. Because the renders make the watch face look as non-digital as possible. That's why I'm glad Apple didn't try to exactly copy a traditional watch. Here's a couple more Huawei watch shots IRL.

You may be right but the case is really fantastic on this watch. They even got the diameter correct, 42mm like a normal sport watch (for reference, most Rolexes are 40mm and larger references from popular brands start around 44).

The videos, when you scroll down on a product. The shots are really nice, and the people too pretty. They are nothing special but I really like them. For example http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/worldwide/talkband-b2/index.htm

Also this watch will look ridiculous if the display is turned off(which is the case most of the time). I looked at their website and couldn't find a single photo with the watch face off. In contrast you can find plenty of photos of apple watch with the display off and it still looks great.

Round is fine. From the Apple keynote, and my own LG Watch R:

Besides, according to Apple, the whole point of a smartwatch is short glances, and being fashionable :)

Android Wear allows leaving displays on (the actual ambient effect depends a lot on the developer of each particular watchface). If the Huawei is anything like the LG R, it'll be gorgeous all the time.

In contrast you can find plenty of photos of apple watch with the display off and it still looks great.

Turned off, the Apple Watch looks like a 1980s computer on a wrist to me.
