I'm pretty sure Spock would be okay with stating it as a fact that Apple will talk about the Apple Watch on March 9th.
Spock was logical. Spock would not confuse assumptions and guessing with future certainties.

So what are saying is that a site dedicated to rumors can't make a logical assumption of the announcement in an event which just so happens to be a month before a new product is set to release?
If they make a logical assumption, that's fine. They can write it up as a logical assumption and not like a future predicting certainty as they just did write it up as in this article.

As always, I rather believe in opinions from MR haters than those respected designers.

Let's take a quick look at your four sentences.

Apple watch is as plain and conventional as watches get.
Coming out of the gate with subjective opinion.
Like.

A clean design for sure, but design wise that's very easy to do.
Spoken as either A) someone who has never designed anything or B) a hack. I'm going to go with A as any designer - even hacks - knows clean design is far from "easy to do." Turns out, complex is easy and easy is complex. Who knew?

I don't see any sign of the typically excellent J.Ive work anywhere on this product.
This inability to see Ive's contribution is more than likely linked to A above.

Rather boring actually.
And closing with more subjective opinion.
Solid. Top to bottom.

That it looks as fresh today as the day we first saw it is a halmark of great design. I agree that it is already an iconic.

I still think it should have been round. And don't you come back with "the UI wouldn't work on a round watch" nonsense. If you look at a lot of the design elements that have been built into many of the apps they are already tending towards circularity.

Most of these screens would not work on a round watch since they make use of the corners.

Your deep emotional appreciation of Apple's work is impressive.

That doesn't really disprove my point since they have all been designed for a square display. I'm just saying, in my subjective opinion, I believe a round watch would be much more aesthetically pleasing and pose no major problems to design a functional app for. There are many circular design elements already in those screenshots even though the display is square. So circularity it is in the minds of the designers almost as if it is an unconscious wish that the display was also circular.

There are many circular design elements on iOS apps as well but it would look hideous if the iPhone or iPad had a circular design.

Are the haters of the Apple Watch the same people who posted countless times about the hideous iPhone 6??

The watch looks just like a pinched iPhone 6 with a turn dial, and I love the iPhone 6 design.

It certainly looks like. You read this type of comments every time a new Apple product is about to be released. Particularly when it is a new category. And when it turns out to be success, they kind of go on hibernation mode.

Shouldn't be Spock 'will be' logical. He's not due to be born for 215 Years.

Well to be fair many of them were / are paid samsung trolls. But I think they have other things to worry about at the moment.

Why would you need a background in design to have an opinion?

Opinions usually are associated with "in my opinion" or "I think/believe" etc. Otherwise you are trying to pass it as a fact. And to be honest I think the opinion of someone who have lot of knowledge/experience on the matter count's more then of someone who doesn't.

I feel like the overall design of the watch (craftsmanship, materials, customization, and clean look) are enough to win it an award. However, from a "sex appeal" standpoint, I don't think it has it. I hate the rectangular shape with rounded corners (even though it flows with every product Apple produces). I also think it just looks like a fat chub of a thing in the renders. Maybe that's because it is zoomed in so close, and it will look more svelte in person. Just hoping round 2 or 3 will be better. Heck, first round of Android wear watches were awful looking, but they've improved drastically over time. I guess it's time for the waiting game.

It's. Still. Just. CGI. How can they award a computer generated image? The thing isn't out yet.
