Only numbers I trust are those Apple reports quarterly.
I get all my information on this website. Every post I consider fact. So naturally - I'm very confused because there are so many contrary facts
Only numbers I trust are those Apple reports quarterly.
I love these absurd, baseless claims that if Apple does XYZ, then people will just absolutely abandon Android like a sinking ship.
Does anyone on this site realize there are LOTS of people in the world who can afford and have either Android or iPhone and CHOOSE Android?
People in the US, the subject of this article, are already abandoning Android like a sinking ship, with Android's share sinking from 65% to 58% in a year. Far from being baseless, it seems Apple needs to do very little to keep this trend going- as people in the US become more familiar with smart phones they are more and more likely to go with Apple.
You are of course right that there is a vibrant, though relatively small, community of people who genuinely like Android. However, most Android owners own Android purely because they can't afford Apple. Most of the rest drink the 'Google is teh open' kool aid which is about as silly as it gets considering we are talking about a company dedicated to mining user data for the benefit of big advertisers. There are also a few Android users who can afford iOS, don't drink the Google kool aid, but really want a big screen. Google can kill these users goodbye in 2014.
You make this sound like a small thing.
The USA is 29% of the global consumer market alone.
Bigger than Japan, Germany, China and Italy combined. Bigger than the entire EU.
For Household final consumption expenditure the USA has a whopping $10 trillion. The next closest was Japan with about $3 trillion.

I have never once seen a tech site flat out state Apple was dying a slow, grueling death. About the worst you see are claims that they're no longer the only player in the market, and they might need to up their game if they want to stay competitive in the long term.
Building a culture of victimhood around a brand is a sad, sad thing, people.
The only smartphones I've ever had are iPhones.
Sure, until you need service......which generally is right after the warranty expires. It's the same with Samsung microwaves and TVs. Reliability and quality control at Samsung are extremely low. Resources are poured into advertising and marketing (huge budgets) rather than into the products.
Not true at all... I've had 4 Samsung LCD/LED TVs, ALL out of warranty and still work perfectly and still have an amazing picture. I wont even touch another brand TV due to the fact how well Samsung TVs have served me.
I cannot speak on other Samsung appliances, as I have not owned any other than their TVs.
We have 1 Samsung appliance. It was our first and will be our last. Our Samsung electric range fried itself after just 4 months. Getting it replaced was a disaster. After all was said and done, we were completely without a stove for about 5 weeks and only had a loaner for a couple weeks because I talked Lowes into letting us use one of their cheapest models so that we had something.
I hear Samsung TVA are nice, but I don't know if I could bring myself to make another major Samsung purchase.
They get tricked into the marketing scams. Here is a history of why Android phones have been superior (sarcasm of course) and how people have been scammed into buying Android.
On an Apple fansite that's pretty much what everybody should expect.
You're not serious, do you?
They get tricked into the marketing scams. Here is a history of why Android phones have been superior (sarcasm of course) and how people have been scammed into buying Android.
Android is superior because it has Adobe flash (lol, now even Android doesn't support it).
Android is superior because it had physical keyboard (haven't seen a flagship Android device released with a physical keyboard in the last 2 years).
Android is superior because it has removable battery and SD card slot (besides Samsung everyone has abandoned these options).
Android is more open and customizable (there is no benefit to open except stealing (torrenting) media, and I don't care about live wallpapers and widgets)
Android had LTE (this was a big selling point for Androids 2 years ago).
Android is superior because you don't have an option (the number of carriers that don't have the iPhone are shrinking rapidly).
Android is superior because you can afford it (no argument here, if you can't afford the iPhone, well than you can't afford an iPhone).
Android is superior because it has bigger screen options (and this legit argument for those who prefer bigger screens will be diminished in about 9 months).
I was wondering the same; unsure where/how the sarcasm was being applied?
I just find it funny there is such a disparity. All the Android sites I visit are not really concerned about Apple; it's about Android. This site likes to proliferate the "nuclear war" that is Apple v. Google.
Some people just can't imagine that there are actually people who go out and buy Android devices of their own volition, and end up actually being happy with them. To them, there's Apple, then there's unusable crap. For someone to buy anything else, they had to be tricked into it somehow.
Did you not read the article, or you can't do math? Apple going from 35 to 42 means that everyone else goes from 65 to 58. In the case of the US, where BB and Microsoft are nothing more than a rounding error, that means Android's peaked and in decline.Do you have a link to those figures?
Get you facts straight perhaps?
313.9 million (2012)
United States of America, Population
739.2 million (2011)
Europe, Population

Aw, remember when everybody had a Blackberry? Don't miss that.
His facts are straight... he never said populations were greater. The consumer market -- as in, total dollars spent -- is larger. Considerably. Simply put; Americans have, and spend, more money.
Its the other way around for me, I was tricked into buying an iPhone buy the iGods and now Im afraid to be condemned and excommunicated from the iCult that exist on this forum by users that think Apple does no wrong.
Keep telling that to yourself. The Android sites I visited show the exact same behaviour, it's just less obvious because there are multiple "sub fan bases".I just find it funny there is such a disparity. It all depends on if you've been branded with the Apple logo yet or not. If you have, well then you're a traitor to the cause, and you have to do the walk of shame.
