This sucks. iOS 9 is incompatible with watch OS 1.0.1. I get no notifications

Really? I'm glad I read that before the 9.0 update came out. I can see a lot of annoyed people tomorrow if that's the case.

That's not true. I updated to iOS 9 GM on Monday, but I'm still running the old watchOS, and I've been getting my notifications just fine.

Maybe you just need to re-pair your watch for some other reason.

Same for me..., though, iTunes is telling me there is a more current version of IOS9!!!! Downloading now

I got a 42mm :apple: Watch yesterday, but it's still running 1.0. It won't update to 1.01?
iPhone 6 said:

"Unable to check for update. An error occurred when checking for a software update"

Are the update servers goosed or is it an issue my end?

"We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected,”

OS software typically run stress tests (to ensure stability) for at least a couple of weeks after the last bug has been fixed.

Apple must have known this issue for at least a week, or they have a horrible QA department, which is probably the case, given that they released iOS 8 with lots of performance regressions. Should not happen if it is well managed and properly staffed.

I have been running the OS 2 GM, and the only bug I have noticed is that the synced music will not play on the watch's speaker. It still asks to pair with iPhone or Bluetooth speaker. Other than that, it has been golden. I have it running along with iOS 9.1 PB.
my watch battery is dead by 2-3pm. I would say it's a big bug. Quite a few people have the issue.

No issues with my GM :D.

I reckon so many people who aint devs installed beta and didn't report bugs XD

Mhm..

I have been using the 2.0GM ever since the very minute it came out, and even trying out all the functions I could think of, I am yet to experience any crashes, bugs or instabilities. Even the battery is much better than both previous betas as well as WatchOS v1

My $ is down for on a security issue a White Hat found. As others have said GM was working fine so leads me to think it wasn't a performance issue.

That is incorrect. I have been running Watch OS 1.01 and iOS 9 beta with no issues and am now on iOS 9.1 beta with Watch OS 1.01 and everything still works perfectly. Never had an issue with the watch not getting notifications.

Will they release the fixed software as 2.01? I'm concerned that my 2.0GM won't update if they release the fixed software as 2.0.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I, for one, am glad they will be delaying the release instead of me downloading and installing a faulty update.

I'm guessing plenty of people remember the "Dude, my phone doesn't work" issue with 8.0 last year.

If anyone is still waiting to upgrade to iOS 9.0, there are no incompatibility issues. I've been getting notifications all day since upgrading this morning, messages, email, news, everything. No reason that I can see to not upgrade if Watch issues are your main concerns.
