That's very unlike Apple, even after months of beta testing!?
I'm guessing you don't work in an engineering field. It happens, and better to take the late hit than lose customer trust.

This sucks. iOS 9 is incompatible with watch OS 1.0.1. I get no notifications
Really? I'm glad I read that before the 9.0 update came out. I can see a lot of annoyed people tomorrow if that's the case.
Same for me..., though, iTunes is telling me there is a more current version of IOS9!!!! Downloading nowThat's not true. I updated to iOS 9 GM on Monday, but I'm still running the old watchOS, and I've been getting my notifications just fine.
Maybe you just need to re-pair your watch for some other reason.
iPhone 6 said:
"Unable to check for update. An error occurred when checking for a software update"
Simple? No. This is extremely significant, Apple has never delayed release. How is that awkward? They found a bug and are delaying the release. Simple as that.
I didn't use it before it was updated. I wanted to see how fast it could launch being that it was a native aw app. And it was pretty good. Took about 2 seconds to open. That's good to hear. Is it quite a bit faster than it was on AWOS 1?
You have never worked in software, have you...?
my watch battery is dead by 2-3pm. I would say it's a big bug. Quite a few people have the issue.I have been running the OS 2 GM, and the only bug I have noticed is that the synced music will not play on the watch's speaker. It still asks to pair with iPhone or Bluetooth speaker. Other than that, it has been golden. I have it running along with iOS 9.1 PB.

From what I have hear the bug is the Apple Fair Play DRM is causing Watch Apps not to work right or not at all. What does this mean for those of us on the WatchOS 2 GM?? What is the bug?
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I, for one, am glad they will be delaying the release instead of me downloading and installing a faulty update.
really apple, all those millions of dollars and you can't fix a bug before release date?
No! It shouldn't matter, they have all the power to be efficient and should not have said it would be ready when it wasn't
