Great news. Despite all the bad news of late, they are still able to sneak ahead of Samsung. Congratulations, Apple!!

Let's see Samsung try to copy that.

I'm sure that if a similar survey were done in South Korea then Samsung would copy that, but kudos on winning over the home fans.

FYI I am not an Samsung fanboy, I am writing this comment from a rMBP, but my word do you sound petty.

I'm not surprised, despite all the latest competition and new products apple is still the best all around.

There will always be a Microsoft, Google or Samsung to compete with but year after year apple always remains on top.

only americans?? if they are patriots they will always vote for american brand...
i think what if this poll is taking in Asia?

In South Korea, voting for Apple will get you arrested.
In North Korea, voting will get you arrested.
In Japan, voting for Samsung will get you arrested.

Google is quickly becoming my favorite brand. Apple would be second followed by Netflix.

Google? Remember, you are not their customer. Advertisers are their customers. You are the product that they are selling.

Steve would've been so proud, knowing that his company is still shining through and hasn't lost any of it's success or glory, people just love :apple: .

If it was a couple of hundred, I would have agreed with you, but statistically speaking, 38,500 Americans is, for the US anyway, a significant sample. I've seen political polls that were being touted as being fairly representative, with fewer people asked their preference, than the 38,500 in this poll.

38,500 is statistically enough to give percentages within 0.5%. So if your numbers are "36.2% voted for A, 34.7% voted for B", then you can be pretty sure that more people vote for A than B. If the numbers are 36.2% vs. 36.1%, then you can't be sure who is really ahead. But then maybe it doesn't really matter. (Gardner reporting world wide PC sales did once report the top six, because #6 was so close to #5 in their estimates that they couldn't exclude the possibility that #6 in the estimates actually sold more than #5).

Someone quoted adverts saying "87% of 280 women agreed..." With these numbers you probably can't be sure that the true number isn't 86% or 88%, but it will be pretty close.

Have you seen youtube? - Google has actually made it worse, or so I'd argue, not that it's horrible or anything, but that sure made a dent in my appreciation of Google. However, The Internship has remedied some of that damage ^^

Great for Apple, but I don't think polling "38,500+ Americans" is enough to award Apple "Brand of the Year", whether or not they deserve it. There are over 300 million people here in the US. Factors also include the age groups, the type of work they do, regions perhaps, etc. can they ask everyone? No, that's impossible. But for "awards" like this, there must be more participation.

38,500 people is a HUGE poll sample, and far more than enough to base a simple award like this. A typical political poll has less than 2,000.

Apple won that with style

And, the products are just good and do what I need!

Since my first MAC in 1984 the development has been amazing and yes magical:)

I contacted Apple under 10 times in these 29 years and can say I got frustrated
a few times, but that was due to my expectations that their products should never break.

And, like all corporations they do have a few employees who don't know much.
