Which is generally a tactic when sued for patent infringement; you dig through your patents to find ones the plaintiff violates and sue them.Apple ONLY raised the issue as revenge for losing the pulse oximetry patents case.

Actually per google, the hourly rate for patent lawyers is between $400 and $600 an Hour. Sheeez, I may have to check into Law School! If Kim Kardashian can pass the Bar Exam so can I lol 😆 📚 👩⚖️I think this comes down poor advertising of patent “renewal” services. But it’s just maintenance. Patents generally expire in about 20 years.
I think you’re describing the probability of getting caught by customs as a single person, ordering a single device. Its practically unenforceable against single people, but it is still legally enforceable.
Right, ~20 years depending on how it’s originally filed.
You’re missing a zero on your ‘best’ patent lawyer estimated hourly rate, and about $1,400 too low for the top tier litigators of these patent disputes.
Edit, I should probably clarify “you” were quoting the $100 estimate from someone else. And patent lawyers most often charge flat-rate, their hourly rate is opaque.
I only searched for ITC personal use exemptions and they are common. I do not know if there is one on this ban.Okay. So here’s the thing, if you have it imported where are you buying it from? That sale is an import and illegal. Now if you travel to a country where they sell it, sure buy yourself one. The point is your solution is no solution at all. 99% of people aren’t going to travel from USA to another country just to buy an Apple Watch. That’s absurd.
That’s probably in range of a typical State and of an average, but the “best” was the important word they used.Actually per google, the hourly rate for patent lawyers is between $400 and $600 an Hour. The design patents Masimo violated were from past products not being sold anymore, so apple has nothing to offer except paying to use the oximeter patents. And these aren't "frand" patents, so Massimo can ask anything they want.Did I say that Apple is getting “something”?
i was suggesting that they should resolve their patent conflict…
I purchased my series 9 on day one, the series 9 had that future removed during the lawsuit where they temporarily banned the sale of series 9 in the US. I’m sorry your wife is missing that future. I specifically purchased the series 7 because of that feature, and because I was having signs of low oxygen. The app has essentially allowed me to monitor subtle changes in my lifestyle to increase my blood oxygen levels, now my averages are between 92% and 97%, where when the series 7 was purchased I was having issues of 78% to 82%. I honestly would recommend the Apple Watch to more people if they would return this feature. My wife has a series 9, and it has no O2 app.
I have a series 7 and a series 6 (I only use it overnight for sleep tracking). Thankfully blood Ox has never dropped below 94%. I use the 7 for daytime wear. My brother was feeling exhausted and out of breath after walking his dog. The ECG app caught his aFib, and after several doctor visits, two cry-ablations, two cardioversions, a WatchMan device, and a pacemaker, he feels better than ever. That's when I started looking at mine. So I'd recommend an Apple Watch to anyone with cardiac or pulmonary issues. It won't be long until the o2 sensor is re-enabled.I purchased my series 9 on day one, the series 9 had that future removed during the lawsuit where they temporarily banned the sale of series 9 in the US. it’s crazy that Apple is allowing this feature to go on missing.
Wow, great story, that is a perfect example!! yes, I would still recommend an Apple Watch, let me retract that from before. What I mean is, to hold off on buying a version 10, and to look for a used Version 7, 8, or 9, that still has the feature available in the US.I have a series 7 and a series 6 (I only use it overnight for sleep tracking). Apple's attorneys don't eat a Olive Garden. They lunch at Alexander's Steakhouse in Cupertino. This is nice. Apple’s attorneys can use the $250 to celebrate their victory at Olive Garden.
Try $6500 per hour or more…Yes, Masimo does not have Disposable Cash reserves like Juggernaut Apple 🍎 does. The best patent lawyers probably charge minimum $100/hour for there services.
If Masimo can’t extend or renew there patents, then they will do a deal with Apple before there patents expire.
