It feels weird to say this, but I doubt they would have missed the announced late October release of iTunes Match if Steve were still running the show.

Yes, Steve jobs would magically fix all the problems himself. Just like George Lucas does all the work on every star wars rerelease himself

Nah, things happen. People will be saying this every time Apple misses on something.

You know if Steve had passed a few years ago, everyone would be saying, "Antennagate would have never happened if Steve were still running the show", "Final Cut Pro would have never been released like this if Steve were still running the show" etc.

Sure, products have problems, but I can't remember Apple missing any announced product/software deadlines. Perhaps I am wrong, and if so, I am sure someone will remind me.

10.5 was delayed more than once, originally announced for early 2007, then spring 2007, then finally released October 2007 (blaming iPhone for the delay).

Mobile me...iPod shuffle with no buttons...glossy screens...PING...

What bothers me is that there has been no communication to developers who were testing it for the last few months. The service which we had been using has now been down since last Thursday. If they had told us it was not coming back up again on Thursday--which it had done in the past--I would have at least known not to bother trying and looking so often to see if it was either up or another version of iTunes was out.

In any event the reality is it is November and no iTunes Match. For whatever the reason, they missed their declared end of October rollout.
