This Intel 16” MBP owner would buy a 15 inch M2 Air on day one and never look back. I simply do not need and M1 Pro chip. M2 is plenty.

I’m *slightly* worried about fanless, but the M2 is very capable. My biggest concern would be it throttling while driving it’s own display, studio display, and presenting on a live call for an hour+. This makes my 16” Intel MBP get pretty hot. I have no AS hands on experience yet, so this is my only real life use case question remaining around fanless M2

Always good to see Apple Silicon getting smaller size in nanometers to fit more circuitry in a smaller space. The future for Apple looks bright!

That would be soooo nice.

I would also want the white bezels, or better yet, an all-white one with white bezels and the rest can have black ones.

But that's just me.
Product Red with Black or white Bezels would be an instant buy for me as well. Apple can do anything. 🤞🏻

This would be the perfect product for me. I’d miss the HDR/mini-LED display of my MBP but this thing is overkill for what I do. Editing a few photos is the most intense work I do. And now that the M2 can support 24 GB of memory, it seems like a no-brainer. I will buy this and sell my MBP the moment it comes out.

"The 15-inch ‌MacBook Air‌ would be close to the size of the larger-screened 16-inch MacBook Pro"

Not sure what I'm missing here, but this makes no sense. From what I've seen the screen design on the Air mimics the Pro nearly identically. The bezels seem about the same width etc.

So how on earth could a 15" Air be the same size as the 16" Pro? And of course 'size' is a stupid term when talking about a laptop.

I expect they meant footprint, which to my point, can't be the same as the 16" Pro. Then it would be much thinner, so... yeah. In no universe would a 15" Air be "close to the size of the larger-screened 16-inch MacBook Pro"

They seriously need to stop calling the iPad Pro a "pro" device, when they don't even offer Logic or FCP on it. Come on, Apple. If you release those apps on there, just take my money!
There are different types of professionals. (But yes, those apps would be nice.)

Closer to the size of the 2017 13" MacBook Air if the screen comes in at 15.2" 1.547:1 IIRC.

I want this color:

I'd definitely be interested in hearing more about a prospective 12" machine. If the price is right, I *might* be tempted to put my 11" MBA out to pasture finally....

13” / 15” Air
14” / 16” Pro

And, done.

It does not need to be any more complicated than that.

And, yes, I have so many people in my life that would jump on a larger Air. They don’t need more ports or power. They just want a big screen without an enormous price tag. Apple has ignored that group for far too long.
Why would they create a 12” MacBook, when they have plans (reportedly) to offer an 11”, 12” and 14.1” iPP?

this naming scheme is so dumb. just make a MacBook and a MacBook Pro and offer different levels of each...
Good thing they didn't go with MacBook Air Mini (rumored 12"), MacBook Air (new 13.6"), and MacBook Air Max (rumored 15")

I like the simplicity of a lineup of 13 and 15 Air, and 14 and 16 MBP, BUT, I am the rare (or maybe not so rare) user that would benefit from a 15"ish MacBook. Not Air, so it's a bit thicker, has a fan a la Mac Mini and iMac, and maybe a touch more I/O, but is still M2, not Pro, because i just don't need an M1 Pro. "Prosumer", if you will. Although, it's possible that a finless 15" Air would serve that position due to M2 just not getting very hot

Man I love you Apple Silicon. Ever since the transition we've been getting nothing but amazing Macs, including a new product line with the Mac Studio that's absolutely genius. Can't wait to see these new machines in action

The one Mac I wanna see them make though now that we're on Apple Silicon moving into M2 though, two words: Macbook. SE. Make it happen Tim.
