Apple Plans 15-Inch MacBook Air for 2023 and New 12-Inch Laptop

  • New model could come by 2023, along with a smaller laptop
  • Higher-end MacBook Pros may arrive end of 2022 or early 2023
These are easy assumptions. But I still think Apple is more likely to push a 12" M2 MacBook more then a 15" MBA given the new model is 13.6" screen. It's the ultra portable laptops that I think would sell really well, as they are perfect for students.

I may be interested in the 12”.

I love my M1 MBA, but wish it was a tiny bit smaller.

Would be ok with same screen but smaller bezels and footprint.

Now we talking... New Macbook Air doesn't have USB-C port on right(short thinking) so Apple can fix it with 15" Macbook Air. The 12" whatever laptop is just pathetic because many were complaining and asking for Mini iPhone and they didn't even buy so Apple have to axe it in iPhone 14. Same will happen to 12" laptop. Apple, just don't do it. Bigger(screen) is better!

12" MacBook is one of the best computers they ever built imo. Can't wait to get that form factor back! 2 pounds. You could bring it with you anywhere without a second though. Nothing has come close to that since.
Completely agree. I still have mine. I don't care what the price is I will definitely buy the new one as long as it comes in 2TB.

The only interesting would be the 12 ", the 15" what good is it, since they already have two 13 ", a 14" and a 16 "?
I don't believe so much, but if it were true a last full optional edition I would buy it, just before it is eliminated from the market.
Until then I am all too comfortable with the 12 "1.1 2015 and the 12" 1.3 2019 purchased new in 2020.

MBA M2 is a very disappointing upgrade… other than a new skin and slightly faster CPU, everything else remained the same.

The decision between MBA and MBP used to be much easier but now that they’re almost the same price (with same RAM and storage), Apple just made a messy product lineup even messier.

If they kept the price at $999, I would have jumped all over it. But now, I’ll probably grab a deal on a 14” MBP for not much more than the price of a MBA M2.

I'm sure the current state of the world factored into it. They prob. wanted more for it too.

For sure it wouldn't be a 12.1" MacBook.

They could make something like a 12.5" MacBook with smaller bezels and it'd be about the same dimensions as the old 12.1". And it would provide just a little more breathing room in terms of screen space.

Bringing back the 12" MacBook but with an M1 (or better) chip and Magic (not Butterfly) Keyboard is a fantastic idea. Call it a MacBook Air Mini.

I like it.

The Air model relays to me that I am getting less ports/less performance, but the lightest frame I can get.

Pro means bring it on.

And with Apple Silicon, I don't think we need any in-between models. Air and Pro cover everything nicely IMO.

If the 15" Air is fanless, I will pick one up day 1.
Right now the MBA has more ports than the 13" MBP.
