All I care about is the Siri API. As a developer, this makes me happy (of course, if this is true (please be true...)).
I can unambiguously say Apple is the ONLY manufacturer of such a product that I would trust to listen to everything going on in my home 24/7. The others are simply not trustworthy.
Apple TV 5 with multiple microphones and always on Siri. BOOM
For crying out loud...this is not innovation. And I already carry 2 Siri's around with me at all times. I don't need another in the kitchen or wherever.
Ugh, I hate to be so negative. But yep, it's a little too late.
Not to mention, Siri is just so tainted to me. It fails at everything from playing music to simple queries to understanding me when I'm speaking perfectly fine. I just wish the Echo wasn't on constant backorder.

What happens when multiple apps have the same action words?
apple has become a "ME TOO" company. They are so boring lately.
Beats speakers of course
I'd prefer something like Harman Kardon Soundsticks.

It did. I have those tooI have those myself. I figured the "wink" emoji conveyed that I was joking about Beats speaker perfection.
Is it true?..Would you believe that the "conversational pylon" concept actually started at PARC almost twenty years ago, Apple was working on this concept from the early days of Steve coming back but it was pushes aside many times for the iPod then iPhone then iPad and even the Watch? Would you believe a few Pylon developers got sick of this **** and found friendlier executives are Amazon willing to make it happen? Now some exec at Apple, has her projections for it go to the garbage over how well the Echo sold? Now they are trying to convert the pylon into a "HomeKit hub" and launching it similar to their first generation WiFi.
Do you own an Echo? I respect your opinions but question the accuracy if you have not experienced the device. I have an Echo for over a year and half, find it very useful, exceptional at managing music, personal assistant, and fun at parties, to name a few things it offers. Siri has a long way to go before it can do even a small portion of the things Alexa can today.I'll be happy to see them open up Siri with an SDK but these in home listening speaker devices are stupid.
