btw, anyone using these for intense outdoor activities (I do mountain biking), don't get one of these colors. Get the Stone Purple (pink) ones. Much easier to find if/when one falls out of your ear. Sucks to lose a $200 earbud. I almost lost a gray one: took me an hour to find, it was so perfectly camouflaged in the gravel and dirt (even using the Find My feature).
They need to make red ones- try dropping one in an airplane seat sometime…

If the wingtips weren’t so delicate. Apple forum full of complaints regarding them breaking and Apple staying silent.
I believe you, but I never would have thought it. I use them for hours and hours a day and never even spotted that as a point of weakness, much less experienced breaking one myself.

I wish they would improve the case a bit. Besides it not having wireless charging ( which feels like a bigger omission than you’d think after you shell out $200), the case feels really cheap.

For people saying they wear these all day and they’re more comfortable than wearing air pods pros all day - do these actually sit securely in your ear? It seems odd because the way these function is by having the wingtip press into your ear hard enough that they don’t move. I couldn’t ever wear them for more than 2 hours without feeling discomfort ( meanwhile I routinely wear my Pros for my entire workday or until the battery dies and I have to switch ears).

The only way I can imagine wearing these a whole day without discomfort is if the shape of your ear is such that the wingtip is barely pressing into it. But at that point, you’d think they’re also not doing their job of staying put since that’s completely dependent on the wingtip pressing against your ear.

I don’t really feel the wingtip. I wouldn’t say it is pressing “hard,” it’s just filling up enough space to give a needed assist. :) With APP, the left one stays in decently well (unless I trip while running, which has happened before), but the right one I can only get to stay in if I replace the silcone tip with a foam one. And even then, if I eat while wearing them or something, the chewing motion works the APPs out of my ears. That doesn’t happen with BFP.
.
For comfort— Just now I reached up to look at my BFP and was surprised to pull an APP out of my ear— I usually wear the BFPs while working but forgot the in the other room this morning. So, yeah, equal comfort for me. Just more security and longer battery life with BFP. No other differences that matter to me. I’m not much of a music listener— Zoom calls, podcasts, audio books.

It makes more sense to add skin tones to these than emoji.. Where's the yellow Beats Fit pro, speaking of?

I am very surprised by this one... I find the exact opposite. Finding the flat part of the stem and trying to click it has a significant chance of moving the AirPod around - particularly, but not only, if the shape of your ear means the stems tend to point in. I have read many comments criticising precisely this for the APP and AP3. However, the push button on the Beats is supremely accessible for all and can, if anything, only serve to push the Beats further into your ear rather than dislodge them.
Interesting. For me the AirPods never move because I'm pinching with one finger and pushing against it against my thumb. The push button sometimes would pop the earbuds out for me after pushing it in or dislodge the wingtips. All depends on the shape of our ears I suppose.

They need to fix the wings on these. After 7 months of VERY light use, they are already ripping off. I can't believe I spent over $200 (with tax) for something I'll have to chunk in <1 year. I went to the apple store and they said it would be $89 to fix one of them.

Yeah, the beats definitely stay in better. No argument there. I still use them daily at the gym and when cycling.

But in terms of comfort while not doing anything active - I don't think they compare at all to Pros. I can have the pros in my ear all day at work and not notice. The few times I tried to do the same with Beats (like a couple times I left the pros on my charger at work, then unexpectedly WFH the next day) I was never able to go over 2 or 3 hours with them. And when I pull them out, the part of my ear they press against is pretty red for a bit.

I guess with that design, the comfort in ear is very variable. Like if your ear is shaped in such a way that a large area of the fin is in contact with your ear - the pressure is distributed. But if the fin is only contact at only one small point, then maybe that makes it worse?

Yeah, for me the tip of the wing is actually not touching anything. The curve of the tip is aligned along the curve of my outer ear.

What is it about the beats Pro that you like better? Genuinely wondering if I ever do jump into buying premium Bluetooth headphones. (I do active sport activities things from time to time, but also want something that I can use at work that quickly and easily connects to iPhone for phone calls and music that sounds really good.)

Adding my answer: they stay in when I'm running and doing weights in the gym. I've never been able to keep Apple's other stuff that has Pods in the name in my ear. One usually just falls out of my ear. I used Jaybirds in the past because they fit well and stayed in but I took a chance on Beats Fit Pro and am happy. For me, fit is #1 as it's no fun when one drops out and you have to stop and find it on the ground or under a piece of equipment.

Sound is fine and it has the great syncing with iPhones and Macs.

What I'd like in version 2: customizable wings (the current set works but it would work even better if larger), a sturdier case, Magsafe charging.

Best fit wingtip for me is the Jaybirds X2, X3, X4 series. They come in three sizes. The largest fits my entire ear channel so you have it held in in the front apex all the way to the back channel. They stopped making them around 2017 which is why I went with the BFP. It was fortunate timing as my Jaybirds were starting to die.

Hard to beat the Apple quick switching ecosystem on headsets too.
