Any word on which chip will power the new Beats Studio Pros? I’m really hoping it’s the H2, but I have a hard time seeing Apple release a new Beats Studio model with the H2 before the AirPods Max gets it.

I have the Beats Studio 3 "Pro", and I've been pretty disappointed with them. For their hulking size, the battery life is so-so. The sound is so-so. The ANC is poor. For the price, I expected a lot better.
Its a headphone that was released half a decade ago? 6 years right, kinda hard to compare them to newer headphones. Unless you get them on an incredible deal, it would be best to get something more modern.

The same applies to the AirPods Max, they are over 2 years old now and the field has made big leaps to catch up and in some aspect surpass them.

Beats headphones are really horrible. Too much low frequency emphasis. Good for thumper music, but horrible for real music.
They’re no longer that bass heavy ,those days are long gone starting with Solo 3 and Studio..but yeah they are pretty average headphones.
good for average consumer.

those serious about music (who want wireless) will go for Airpods Max or Sennheiser Momentum series, etc

and those who want the best comfort will go for Bose QC series.

AirPods Max gave me a terrible headache. I'd love some H3 equipped headphones that are as good as Sony WH1000XM4s. As light as well please.
I haven't used the APM, but I want them for their connectivity. The XM4’s are so disappointing. They disconnect and connect with the second Bluetooth device so many times, and tell me every time they do. My Power Beats Pro are awesome with connection. Nobody makes connection seamless like Apple.

All I want is a foldable ANC Wireless headphone from Apple. So the Beats Studio Pro will hopefully be that headphone. If 9to5 Mac are correct, these will be as good as the AirPod Max but for travelling, be small enough to put in your carry-on, instead of being the carry-on.

People may disagree vehemently, but I still think the AirPods Max is one of the best headphones on the market, at least for me. They fit securely around my ears and have some of the best ANC in headphones. I can also wear them for hours and hours, and I don't have any discomfort when I wear them. They are like a pair of earmuffs. It's great!
I love mine. It's weird how unpopular they are.

Geez insufferable much? As an enjoyer of both “thumper” music, and “real” music, my studio 3s sound great. Not as good as my XM4's, or my hi res audio room, but they sound great. They’re indestructible, I use them when I’m doing yard work, running etc, still in near perfect condition.

My fav wireless over-ear headphones due to their low profile on my massive heeeed!

Sound is good for D&B + Hip-Hop and the noise cancellation is plenty good enough. Battery standby time has been stellar for me. Really dig the colour scheme of the midnight black model I currently own. Will def try an updated set.

Agreed! I have the same color but with the tan underside. Love them still all these years later

I've always loathed my Beats and Apple head/earphones but since getting my Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones it's made it even more crystal clear how little quality Apple actually provide for the money you pay.
They’d want to be better than the XM4 junk.

If it’s anything like the Beats Solo Pro, it’ll just feature an always on design(folding the headphones sleeps them).

Naming a product with both Beats and Studio in the name is a bit of an oxymoron. Although Beats are decent headphones and are made to flavor music to sound appealing, they are hardly the type of headphones one would use in a studio environment. Studio headphones need to be accurate and tell the real story of how a mix is sounding. But I guess the moniker Beats Studio Pro sells...

Me too - I went into them blindly and had never tried them before but thankfully they’ve been great. Only issue I have is wearing them with a hat, it slightly hurts the sides of head after a few hours. My one complaint is I find them very warming so during the summer they get annoying.

I have a pair of HD660s, HD1, and Pioneer SE-205 from the 70s and the APM blow them all away comfort wise (all the others hurt my ears after about an hour, the 660s also give me a headache). Using them in transparency mode is cool because they really sound like open backed headphones.

I’ve been traveling recently and have been using the AirPods Max as both literal earmuffs and at night if there’s noise. I put ‘em on ANC mode and sleep like a baby, not a single sound comes through!

“Studio”
“Lossy compressed only”
not in any studio I’ve ever worked in!
Compressed files over Bluetooth and you never worked with that 😂? Audio is a big deal to talk about - digital or not - but uncompressed files to work with and wireless are two total different things. But younglings don't know that and buy everything. Even AptX doesn't give a true sound. Studio means always wired.

Sony XMs conquer all. Foolish to get anything else.
Not with Apple products. Getting this constant "your second device is connected" every 2 minutes because it keeps losing connection with a device 50cm away is dumb and annoying. Or when it switches to a different device you have to manually select it to get back to the first. On top of that, the Bose seem to have a much better ANC on a plane. They also have a lousy microphone versus others. But they are comfortable I guess. And they sound good, but so they should at that price point.

Before getting my current headphones I tried the Studio3. I still love the design and think it looks better than any other headphone out there including the AirPods Max. Unfortunately the ANC sucked at the time. If they manage to fix that the new one will be great! It almost makes me wish I was in the market again.

I have beats solo pro.
It have ANC transparency mode, and this is ONLY beats's on-ear headphones.:)
I want next generation pro model, on-ear.

Lol never seen this in the 10mths I owned the XM4’s nor did my son when I gave it to him the last 3 mths.

It’s constant, it’s so annoying. Maybe my version is just a bad one. Still, it’s impossible to beat the inter chain ability of Apple/Beats. I also found my old QC35’s, and my wife’s QC700 are better than my XM4 ANC, but reviews all seem to say otherwise??

Technically, they're not even good for "thumper music":

Yes, they emphasize the main elements in low-end heavy music. But the artists in these genres already mixed the audio to (over) emphasize the low end. They didn't intend for there to be added even more low end and even more treble (high end) to be cut from the high end.

But even if they were really good and on par with AirPods but a little cheaper, I'd still go for AirPods just to avoid the terrible Nicki Minaj/Will.I.Am/Megan Thee Stallion "Urban High Gloss"-music video aesthetics that I get from beats.

And besides personal preferences -How on Earth is my white behind supposed to pull of these colors? I might as well wear a sign around my neck that says "HELLO -I'M CAUCASIAN!".

It's clear that Apple does not want me to buy beats!

I wouldn’t say it’s loaded with issues. I’ve been daily driving it for two years and it has worked flawlessly, a lot more reliable than even the AirPod Pros. I just wish it supported MagSafe for charging.
oooohhhh a magsafe charging coil in the headband so when you put them on a compatible stand they would charge. I LIKE IT! I think I would buy them just for that feature! ha ha.
