10.2" interesting, no mention of 11 or 10.5 & I doubt the base iPad is getting mini LED since it never even got a laminated screen. This could mean the 11" Pro or more likely the 10.5" Air is being reduced to 10.2"

YES!!!

After pure wishful thinking and not-leak-supported dreams for a 14 inch MacBook Pro. YES!!!

And better yet, it comes from
lord Kuo.

I’ve been waiting for THE macbook pro for 7 years (yeah, as I dont NEED it) and that’s gonna be it! Don’t care if its holidays 2021.

That thing is going to sell

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Apple's 4th quarter June 30 to September 30?
Thanks for pointing that out. I believe you’re right, and the timing for the iMac Pro sounds about right as well. It’s due for an upgrade given the availability of new Xeons, and this pegs it right around WWDC, which also makes sense. End of the calendar year seemed too far out.

I‘m not sure what that would mean for the non-Pro iMacs though...

if the iPad Pro 12.9” is announced at an event this month, it will be interesting to see if they have added Mini-LED.

Would be much more compelling than “it has an extra camera.”

I suspect, though, that they may do one release with the camera/processor upgrade and a new keyboard, and then one at the end of the year with a better screen, pencil 3.0, and some other features.

I think one thing is for certain for those who are requesting it, OLED for the iPad is not Apples vision moving forward. I think mini LED offers far more tangible benefits in terms of a wider color gamut/battery conservation/efficiency over OLED. But I suspect we won’t see any advancements with displays until the latter part of 2021 at the earliest, but nonetheless, it’s coming.

Edit: I referred to Micro-LED, Mini-LEd would be the correct comparison.

A Macbook with a new display seems like a good candidate for the ARM transition. I hope they'll release an update version of the 13'' with the new keyboard in the meantime.

Interesting to hear something concrete about a 14" MacBook Pro, but the potential timelines seem to raise more questions.

Presumably they want to get the scissor-switch keyboard in to the 13" MBP - but would they refresh that line just for a keyboard? Or maybe they would go with a revised 14" laptop based on the current tech in H1 and then the mini-LED version at the end of the year with the 16"? It would bring them both in to sync then for future refreshes.

Quite a lot of people thought the iMac Pro may just be retired, or the lessons-learned on that one go in to the guts of a totally redesigned iMac?

Yep, I really hope Apple skips OLED overall. That tech is flawed on so many levels. I guess its fine with watch or phones but iPads or iMacs etc. hell no.
mini LED and later microLED is the way to go.

Perhaps I'm out of the loop, but just what is the point of continuing the Touch Bar -- and if it is so important, so necessary to the "Apple experience," so popular, so easy to use, then why isn't it available on any of Apple's stand-alone keyboards? Why is it only on the laptops?

I’ve never heard anyone claim that it is particularly “important” or “necessary to the ‘Apple experience.’” Rather, it’s well-liked by many (though it also has its opponents) and it’s a clear differentiator between the MBP and Apple’s other notebooks. That’s why you see it in that space.

It could indeed be offered as an option to a stand-alone keyboard, and my guess is that we will see this at some point. The downsides to doing that would be price and battery life, as well as inventory requirements, since Apple almost certainly would continue to offer non-Touch Bar versions of its keyboards.

That is highly unlikely. Update iPad Pro so quickly would not only piss a lot of people off but it would not make sense for Apple to do so especially that they are on 12+monhts cycle.
In the history when Apple did that it was always for a very specific reason. We don't have that reason now so either upgrade it now or wait till fall and do it then.

Why? (The Apple Watch is) OLED so what would be the point?

To be fair, the Watch has long been rumored to get a Micro-LED or Mini-LED display.

Interesting that the iMac Pro is said to be getting a 27" Mini-LED display, but no mention of the iMac 5K also getting one. Seems like Apple would want to use the same panel...

It's perfect for creatives like myself who use Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro X. It's for the pro MacBooks, Maybe in time it will come to other stand alone keyboards.

Don't knock it. The touch bar is blo*dy awesome! It also makes Macs with F keys look very dated in comparison!

Definitely excited for the 12.9" iPad, seems odd the basic 10.2" iPad would get it and also the mini, but no mention of the Air or the 11" Pro? I suspect some sort of lineup consolidation if this proves to be accurate. Glad to have held out a bit longer on the 16" Pro as well, hopefully this will be a good bump in screen quality. Interesting to finally get some solid basis for a 14" Pro after a lot of speculation but radio silence from people like Kuo (indeed only confirmation of an upcoming 13").
