Only Apple product I can now afford is Apple Juice.

Keep drinking that Apple Juice and you won’t be able to afford the medical care needed due to the damage done over the years. :p

Best to bite into an Apple instead :D

(flatline). I know right? NExt year ipad pro ac plus- 2,000 usd.

On the plus side, when I go to sell my iOS products it will seem like a bargain.

I love that “up to” automatically means “always” to this forum.

apple is about to price out a generation of users. between this, the new iPhones...an extra $50 here, $100 there...

Remember when the iPad was a nice to have secondary device around the house for entertainment purposes. This is one expensive Netflix machine of a Pro device that does not support multi-user accounts.

Lol, Apple has lost touch with reality, this is some RDF pricing.

Never needed AppleCare for any of my devices, if one does there are more affordable options.
Sounds like the $300 iPad would suit your needs, this device is not meant for you.

Nah, buying Apple products frequently will make the “average” consumer poor faster. Seriously beautiful products released today, however not indicted to purchase any of them.

Apple does not want people to upgrade annually, by increasing the price people will use their devices longer and Apple can claim its Environmentally Green prize. Is this not evident to people.

Talk about willfully ignorant. Companies, including Apple, always want to sell you as much as they possibly can to make maximum profit. Notice how Apple always compares the newest gadget to the previous most recent model at their keynotes? iPhone upgrade program? Get real dude. Apple would love it if you upgraded every device when a new one launches. Most people aren’t dumb enough to do it though.

Come on, really?

This was mentioned during the XS Keynote in September. I understand that upgrading frequently looks good for a companies profit margins and seems counterproductive for a corporation to claim the opppsite. This is Apple.

Lol, I have a 2017 iPad Pro 12.9” price is not a factor for me, as I am quite pleased with what I own and use on a daily basis.

Apples words on stage at the September Keynote. Look at the message and direction taken. Throwing knives at me serves no purpose, I quite frankly do not care if you choose to upgrade or not. I can every year, however there is no value for the price in todays beautiful product announcement.

Then why make comments about using an iPad Pro as an "expensive netflix machine" and complain?

Tim “oh and one more thing....you get price increase next year as well!”

Yup. I’m going from a two-year to a three-year phone upgrade cycle. Not worth the cost to upgrade that frequently anymore.

This is generally how taxation works. If there is no tax, people consume more. If there is a tax and an increase, people pay attention and purchase/consume what is necessary.

Welcome to the higher Apple Tax :p:D

Apple buys the components & parts very cheap because of the bulk order, they can easily overcharge us for the tiny component part.

Lol, I use my iPad Pro for many professional and consumer related tasks. Call it a well balanced work and play. Most people use that amazing ProMotion display not for social apps, web browsing, email, text. However for watching Netflix, creative drawing/photography apps.

People use expensive MacBook Pro for Netflix, surfing, social, email, etc. The difference is that macOS is more capabilities and compatible compared to present iOS. This is not a knock to any one OS environment, it is the present reality.

Alongside the release of updated 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, Apple has increased the price of AppleCare+ for the iPad Pro from $99 to $129 in the United States.

AppleCare+ for all 10.5, 11, and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, which is the entire device lineup, will now cost $129.

AppleCare+ extends the warranty on the iPad Pro to two years from the date of purchase, and it covers two incidents of accidental damage subjected to a $49 service fee. The protection plan also covers the Apple Pencil.

AppleCare+ must be purchased alongside a new iPad Pro or within 60 days, with Apple using an online or in-store verification process for AppleCare+ purchases made after an iPad Pro purchase.

Sans AppleCare+, out-of-warranty repairs on the new iPad Pro models are expensive. Repairs on the new 11-inch iPad Pro will cost $499, while repairs on the new 12-inch iPad Pro will cost $649. Repairs for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro will cost $449.

The new 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models can be purchased today from the Apple online store, with shipments set to arrive on November 7. The 11-inch model is priced starting at $799 and the 12.9-inch model is priced starting at $999.

Apple knows that the majority of consumers would be well served by the much cheaper iPad (2017). They don't expect the majority of people to buy an iPad Pro, and even fewer to upgrade from a 2017 Pro to a 2018 Pro. The Pro line is like the iPhone X line -- no holds barred with new features, and prices to match.

But most people will be happy with the XR and the vanilla iPad and the MacBook Air etc. The people who really lose out with this product strategy are tech enthusiasts who always want the latest and greatest, but can no longer afford it. I'm starting to see myself in that category.

You know why they showed mainly celebrities in that “who uses Apple video?” Because they’re the only ones that can afford it anymore

For $US649 I can buy a brand new iPad 2018 6th-gen 128GB with cellular and have change for a great many things!

while repairs on the new 12-inch iPad Pro will cost $649....

Now, THAT is insane.

iPad repairs were always super expensive. Battery service on even out of warranty iPad retinas and iPad Airs are $300. They are much more difficult to take apart than iPhone 6 and newer which really couldn't be easier for a device that is completely sealed. It is very easy to destroy an iPad when opening it up. Just take a look at the ifixit guides.

That means that if you've got butterfingers or are a klutz that drops his/her stuff buying AppleCare is a must! They cost almost as much as an old MacBook Air if not a little more for some configs so they're worth insuring if you're going to keep them for 2-3 years.
