AppleCare+ for Vision Pro Headset Costs $499

I am guessing that there is little repairability in this unit. It will be a replacement, the $2400 out of warranty price is probably the cost of the unit (excluding profit and taxes)... so they are guessing that maybe 1 in 6 (..or more realistically 1 in 10 with some AC profit) will need replacement.

I thought being mugged was illegal. 500 bucks for Apple Repair is the literal definition of daylight robbery.

Very costly. Hopefully by taking enough care, purchase of AppleCare can be avoided.

Should a product this expensive not already include the additional coverage of an AC+ plan?

We’ve somehow let it be ok that Apple charges even more for what should be the normal warranty and support for their products

Another way of looking at it is Apple doesn't charge for a longer warranty in the base price but lets the purchaser choose to extend it if they want.
