I wish it would work with everyone in the family, so I can add all 3 of our iPhones on one AppleCare One plan
I can understand wanting something like that, but there’s no way it would be priced the same. Perhaps they will do a family version of this like they have with Apple One.

Nope. I just got an email with the subject “[My own name] sent you an Apple Gift Card” It’s for $99.19, for the remaining amount on my MacBook Pro AppleCare. I hope they change the email subject line in the future so it’s more clear what it is. I did not send myself a gift card.
Thanks for that. I was wondering what they would do with existing annual plans if incorporated.

This wasn't a deal to me, since I have the MBP, Vision Pro, and iPad covered with annual plans and only pay Apple Watch and iPhone month to month and that comes out to $15. If I get to combine them all though, it does save me a chunk of change there.

Also, I'm surprised at the number of devices up for inclusion on my end, including HomePod minis that have been expired since 2023 by my count. I'm sure there's a waiting period if you add a device before you're able to use the coverage, but it's great to see the option extended for all sorts of devices.

As it turns out, you can't add headphones that are over a year old. That's the gotcha. I wanted to add some out-of-warranty AirPods Max I have which are the most likely to fail (as they are designed like ****), but they are ineligible.

A way you can easily make this plan work for you is if you have a MacBook Pro or Apple Vision Pro, or an iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad. Otherwise, it will be a hard sell considering the individual deductibles and annual purchase prices.
You can’t add headphones over a year old that aren’t currently covered by AppleCare. My AirPods Pro 2 that I bought in March of last year are eligible.

It’s always been you could never extend AppleCare on headphones past two years. I wonder if this changes that.

My issue is I have an apple family set up and my kids and wife have iPads and phones and watches and I pay Apple care individually in them but I don’t see them from my selectable list.

I just migrated my existing MacBooks with apple care + and got instant refunds and added my wife’s 2021 MBP. Love it

I canceled all of my AppleCare plans yesterday to be ready for today. I took a chance but it worked. They sent my balances to my credit card last night. I signed up today and all good.

I don’t think that is true. My MacBook Pro, M4 Pro, is not eligible for coverage. It is less than a year old.
Sounds like an error. Contact Apple Support or keep trying. I kept getting error messages on my eligible devices. I think people have also been told that their pretty new devices weren’t eligible. They’re working out some kinks in the system.

These could very easily end up in the junk folder with rest of the "Click here to claim your Apple gift card" scams.

Maybe do an on-device reminder for one to log into their Apple account?

My iPhone already has AppleCare through the iPhone Upgrade Program. So it said my iPhone is not eligible but to contact support. 🤔

I wonder what that means.
I'm guessing that you AC+ payment is part of the load of Citizen (?), so that's outside of Apple's "reach" so to speak ...

I’m going to sign up after I buy my MacBook in September right around the same time I upgrade my 15PM to the 17PM. Right now I’m only paying monthly for my 15PM and my daughter’s Apple Watch SE.

Yeah that was my thought too. I thought it was interesting that is says to contact support as though maybe I could sweet talk them 🤭

I am waiting a bit til my Ultra 2 coverage ends on like Sep 21 or so, I bought it with the 2 year coverage so that money is long gone out of my hands. At that point I'll reconsider, I currently have a iPhone, AW 7, ipad Air (coverage expires Jul 2026) so on a moth basis right now I pay 9.99 + 4.99. Switching now, getting refund and paying more monthly doesn't make sense yet

being part of iPhone upgrade program gotta be a common scenario is I'd think the Apple and Citizen have some agreement in place, but I'm guessing that it is not something that can be managed thru the web interface right now but requires manual intervention. so if it makes sense for you to go that rout id contact support

Hmm... I tried to add my M2 MBA but I kept getting "Something Went Wrong". I rebooted and went back to Apple to add coverage and now the only devices listed are those that already have AppleCare+.

EDIT: Just wanted to update here. I tried several more times but never got it to work. Then I tried adding another device that already had existing AppleCare+ (my iPhone 16 Pro) and after that I was able to successfully add my M2 MBA! Very happy that all my major devices are now covered.
