I usually skip AC+ for Macs and Macbooks as they don't get moved around as much as phones. Just ordered the Pro Max this year and I'm thinking if I should get one now for this slippery bar of soap.

After the screen on my iPad Pro 2 developed a hairline crack, I’m inclined to get ac+ on my devices. (The iPad was used only by me, and at home. No idea how it cracked.). I bought ac+ for the 13.

I never used to get AC+, but the squared off designs of the new iPad Pro and iPhone Pro do seem more prone to cracks (regardless of what Apple says). After owning various iDevices since 2008 and never ever cracking a screen, this year I managed to crack the glass on both. So I’ve gone with AC+ for the replacements.

Little known fact single hairline cracks (with no spider web effect) are actually covered under the included standard warranty no apple care+ needed.

Comes with the iPhone upgrade program and I'm glad it does. One less thing to worry about and doesn't add a significant cost to the monthly payment when theft/loss is also added.

I get it.... I can be clumsy.... although I've never *knock on wood* cracked a screen.

I think most issues I've had have been covered under regular warranty however I like the quick shipment you get with a/c and the peace of mind!

even at home if I drop it.... I'm dripping it on tile so there is a danger..... worse if it's dropped in a parking lot or a hard store floor!

I ALWAYS get insurance for devices that I don't want to have pay large amounts for replacement or repair. Typically I got the Verizon Total Protection service, but this past year I opted for the month-to-month Applecare+. This way, when I trade it in for the new phone, I will only have paid $180, vices the full $270.

I forgot to add AppleCare plus when I pre ordered. Will be be the same price if I add this when I receive the phone?

It should be, I am debating AppleCare+ so hopefully it's same price as on their site.

It will be the same yes I’m going to get Apple Care with theft and loss this year too.

its pretty pricey considering the deductibles and the ceramic shield is durable, so if you drop your phone with no case, it may get chewed up but likely the glass will be fine (in my experience). this means if you want to get it expressed replaced its 100 + 199 for the plan = $300 bucks.

if you have a case your unlikely to need to even use apple care at all but now your adding at least another 50 for the case, possibly more for a few screen protectors = $350+. now your at 1/3 the cost of the phone just for protection assuming 1 incident.

I believe AC+ is very well worth it for the iPhone and Watch just because they’re used daily everywhere.

Been caseless since the iPhone 3. Here’s my 12PM from launch day. It gets dropped a couple times a month on concrete, and I don’t baby my devices. Only replaced the screen once and the sides are holding up fine, no dents. There are a good amount of scratches and stuff but most of them are hairline except the impact locations from drops.

The key is it also cannot have a point of impact. if there is a spot where the crack originated from then it isn't covered.

I am getting AppleCare theft and lost protection. I pay for the full amount and get refunded the remainder each year when I trade in my old phone. Then I take the remainder and put it toward AppleCare again.

If you really want to go caseless or have a risky lifestyle or are just likely to forget/break every 1 or 2 years your phone somewhere it can be worth it.

But honestly for most people - as any insurance in tech product - it is on average not worth it. If you consider the price of AC+ combined with the likelyhood of having an issue with your phone, you are losing on average. And when you have an issue, the cost of it under AC+ combined with total sum of AC+ fees are likely to be more expansive than just pay full price for reparation with not recurrent AC+ fees, even more true if you have issues rarely.
Insurance is like a casino, it's a game where on average the bigger boy win vs consumer since it's basically how they make money - and they make a lot.

After my most recent experience with Apple repair where I voluntarily paid to replace my battery, I wanted to get AppleCare+ for this new phone. So yes. I got it for myself this time. Have not in the past since iPhone 3G.

the experience was not good and the options they seemed to have for AC+ customers could have made the experience a lot better.

Wow! The camera lens looks really good even though it looks like the housing took some damage. Impressive

if you ordered from the regular apple store.... yes.
Ah that makes sense. When I go on the apple store app and search for AppleCare it comes up as being over £11pm. However when you spec up a new phone, adding it as an extra comes out as £9 something per month
