The guide to benefits Chase gives you with the card. But it ONLY applies if you paid off the phone, up front or the rest of the payments left, not still on installments.
so if you break it after month 1 to use the Chase benefits you need to shell out about $950 to pay off the phone first. AND they use a 3rd party insurer, so it very likely wont be same day repair like Applecare.
I'd just go Applecare.

I didnt know about the paid off part, but as for the repair if you have Apple repair it you can do same day repair & upload chase the receipt that they then reimburse you via a check; if it’s a third party repairer I believe you have to get a quote & then permission (I’ve never don’t it this way).

Correct, 60 days. If you cannot get to a store they can add it over the phone and run remote diagnostics on your phone.

It has to be at least a certain price. They are not going to cover $600 repairs on a phone you are paying monthly on. All credit cards are like that. They will never cover more than you actually charged on your card for the phone.
Just dug out the terms for the card (chase ink business) as not sure I ever have them a read through; the only stipulation is that you had to have paid your monthly bill using the card during the month you broke the phone (you have to upload them 2 docs to get your money: 1. Repair bill, 2. Cell phone bill matching the monthly payment from the credit card statement.
Wells Fargo visa signature card has this cellphone protection policy. The requirement is that the monthly cellphone wireless bill must be charged recurring on this Wells Fargo card then they provide up to $600 reimbursement for repair, replacement, EVEN if the phone is lost or stolen (requires police report). It's a free protection coverage for up to 4 lines on a wireless account. I don't think AppleCare+ covers for lost or stolen iPhones.
I was on the chat with square yesterday. They stated that their current prices do cover the iPhone X. Up to 4 incidents a year and $99 per occurrence.
I stated the AppleCare price for screen replacement is only $29 and square said you may get a discount, to know for sure you have to submit a claim before you take your phone in for service. My idea is with Apple replacing the screen on the X for $279. Square will more then likely charge you the $99.
Has anyone ever used square trade? How are they with claims? The last thing I want to happen is for my claim to get denied for whatever reason and I be stuck with that Apple bill of $279 or $550.
I had SquareTrade for my iPhone 6s Plus. I had to make a claim for water damage and it went very smoothly. I called in to start the claim which took about 5 minutes. I then went to the Apple Store, paid the replacement fee, uploaded the receipt, and I had a reimbursement check in less than a week. While it took a few more steps, they were pretty simple and saved me money over apple care.
Awesome, sounds like a good smooth experience. Are you going to go with them again for the iPhone X, or do you still have square trade?
If I decide to get insurance, it will for sure be square trade. SquareTrade is $129 for 2 years or $159 for 3 years. This is cheaper than Apple Care which is $199 for 2 years. The deductibles are both $99 if you break anything other than the screen.
The only downside to SquareTrade is that you have to call to set up a claim and get reimbursed after paying for a replacement. For some, the little extra convenience Apple Care provides may be worth the extra $70.
Squaretrade is a diminishing value insurance policy. When you have repaired the phone equal to the value of the policy it is done.
Give then costs of some repairs, I would take Applecare+
You ST policy has a repair limit in dollars. Reach that limit and you have no more coverage.
No, but you can call ST right now and they will tell you.
Gotcha. Would you happen to know the limit?
Okay, so what’s the cost diff between SquareTrade and carrier insurance like Verizon which will get me coverage for loss/theft?
I want to know this too
I know carrier insurance has been undesirable in the past, but I’ve read Verizon’s new plan rivals AppleCare+ now.
