Except the cost of the insurance vs. cost of the repair is so skewed so much you're better off with the insurance. Especially if you need to repair the rear glass.Put the money in a savings account and pay yourself

You win over the long term unless you have a history of frequently damaging phones. You could get unlikely with the first phone but, over time, you will be profitable.Except the cost of the insurance vs. cost of the repair is so skewed so much you're better off with the insurance. It seems the discussion here is about accidental damage. For regular issues like the phone just dying or the battery needing to be replaced, AC+ charges nothing. What does ST charge for those?
Good question. I will have to ask ST about that.
Old thread but just bought my wife her X. Anybody with squaretrade have to use it yet?
Stay away from third party insurance. They have terrible terms. Stick with AppleCare+.Old thread but just bought my wife her X. Anybody with squaretrade have to use it yet?

Making a general statement like this when discussing a specific 3rd party insurance makes no sense. Have you looked into Squaretrade's terms? They let you get any repairs or replacements done through Apple/AppleCare if you want. So the only difference would be price (Squaretrade is cheaper) and the fact that you have to pay for the repair/replacement upfront and then get reimbursed. Squaretrade will cover both old phones and new. And the coverage moves to your new phone when you upgrade.
All in all, Squaretrade is a great deal and is even cheaper when you buy it for multiple phones.

That is correct.I thought Squaretrade is diminishing value insurance. You dont get unlimited repairs during the policy period. You have a $ limit.
That is correct.
