That'll teach Apple a lesson they'll never forget. I'm often amazed at how childish some of the posters on this forum sound.

LOL! Childish is those that feel compelled to post "that is childish" because they don't like someone's opinion. Perhaps you were the bully in the school yard too?

By the way, I don't care if I scare Apple or not, it's my business that matters. As for Apple I have been a corporate client of theirs for 5 years. Not to mention we own a little stock too. So if they don't care what their clients feel that's okay, they learned before what not listening to their customers meant.

No problem glad you appreciated it. Even though my shop is 100% Apple, it's always about the solution not the technology. When a technology provider chooses to make customers wait and wait and wait for hardware and software, then other things that are more up to date and current become options. It's just good business to keep options open!

Giving business advice to one of the most valuable companies in the world? really?

Wow that's like saying the United States doesn't need help from it's allies because it's the most powerful country in the world!

What do you think Apple get's it right every time? LOL! Even Steve laughed about their MobleMe product.

On that basis, I'd like to know what you have achieved to be in the position to give them advice?

Not once did I claim Apple get it right every time. It makes me laugh how everyone claims to be an expert and thinks they know the best course when Apple appear to be doing just fine doing what they're doing on most product lines.

Apple's release cycles haven't been set in stone, the iPhone is still a fairly young product to have a regular release cycle and not once have Apple announced a release date for the iPhone 5. So as far as everyone is concerned. The iPhone 5 is not delayed at all.

If you want to make the switch to Android then by all means feel free. My previous phone was a Nexus One and it was a great phone and OS. But I fail to understand why you need to make a FaceBook/blog style announcement on a forum thread discussing the release of iOS 5 about your decision. There's plenty of them on the iPhone section so take your pick.

EDIT: Terrible analogy by the way on so many levels.

I have decided.

If Apple doesn't meet my self-imposed deadline, I will be making an announcement about my plan for my next phone. However, this announcement will only be available to Canadians. On a Japanese holiday.

We noticed that with most American companies, not just Apple. Released in the Fall - Argh, not everywhere has the same seasons as you, and nor do they even start on the same dates!!!! Forget about Fiscal, or financial, years as while ours is July to June, but it varies from company to company in the US...

Thats why we love dates - if something is due out mid october, say mid october, not 4th quarter (or is that first quarter of the fiscal year?)...

Dont ya love differences in countries, and lets not start the day/month or month/day arguement yet :)
Apple is nebulous about upcoming releases because they can be. It'll say "fall" because it's ambiguous.

Remember that Apple doesn't really follow anyone else's schedule. They will release new product and services when they are ready.

Its still a month away....i can't wait. The more annoying question is when will Australia get the phone?! Im seriously going nuts having to wait a month to know what the phone is, let alone when it comes over here. :(

As much as I agree, it's probably a global launch, so it's going to land on some holiday somewhere.

God i hope its going to be a global launch on or very near the US date. I cant wait any longer to get off this stupid BB! :D

Sooo...you are imagining there is no good reason for the"delay"?Of course there is no delay, since you have to announce a product and date for that.
Regardless,I'll take my updates as bug free as possible, thank you very much, and not try to impose my preconceived notion of a proper release date.Heck,I've only had my iP4 13 months!

I beg to differ. Canada is America's largest and most reliable trade partner. Unlike some other countries, we don't run a massive trade deficit - we buy as much from the US as it sells to Canadians. Canada is the largest and most reliable supplier of OIL, electricity, natural gas, uranium, and lumber to the US. Additionally, Canada is a long time friend and ally to the US. :)

Oh,Canada!

I really don't get it.3 or 4 months for a new model and you can't stand it so much you get all upset and ditch an ecosystem you profess to like?Really?
I realize people posting here are not average consumers, and are more likely to want the latest thing(me included),but iOS4 and iP4 are pretty awesome to me,I can wait.It was your decision to keep a 3GS.

I really doubt on your deathbed you'll say"I just wish the iPhone 5 hadn't been delayed 14 weeks."

No one knows for sure.

That said, the iPhone generates more than 50 percent of Apple Inc. total revenues. If there is one Apple product announcement that merits a live event, it would be the iPhone debut.

Apple benefits from an insane amount of media coverage from their live events, so its probable that they will judiciously schedule such announcements for the foreseeable future. There is no tech company on this planet that gets the same amount of media coverage than Apple announcing something.

Where is the ios 5?
I would not care that launch is not before 10th October (if it's true), only if current 4.3.x was not such a bad update... laggy bugs.. etc

Does this mean new ipods are also going to announced by the end of this month???

I don't think anyone can make any assumptions about when iPods will be released from this rumor.

As a matter of fact, about 98% of Apple rumors on tech blogs end up being wrong, so you're best not to assume anything that doesn't emanate from apple.com/pr.

It seems to me that Apple really needs to get iOS 5 in the users' hands ahead of the iPhone 5 launch. Since iCloud is the "big thing," current iPhone users need to have the new OS first so that their data can get into the cloud before they get their new phone.

Otherwise the iPhone 5 "out of the box" experience is going to be disappointing, and I don't think Apple wants that to happen.
